I know what you're alluding to and it's actually not an issue push hard to release the safety and the gun is ready to fire even if the safety isn't all the way down. Thing is it takes a deliberate push to go off safety

And that sums it up , I would not have taken the seeing the dog being strangled already which worked. But you may have a diffent approach and that's ok too. I am very wary of ricochets as I have seen 2 kids hit by the same round coming off concrete. Not prepared to chance it in a crowded space even with jhp ammo

I don't think it's possible to draw a gun in a situation like this - too many people and some important grips possibly preventing the fog lunging at the kids face . Cutting of its air supply is exactly the correct way to do it. A round can overpenetrate and ricochet or redirect off bone etc

Maybe look at my posts and contributions over the years. I'm a good and very proficient shooter. Plus don't assume others have not had to navigate bad situations. Shit happens to all of us .
