I totally agree - it's almost me in my Warsaw flat in early 1990s. The details, the CIV I old PC is really good, the old, wooden white windows, the old radiator, in fact looking at the keyboard, I realized it really WAS that baad!!! :-), the double curtains, with the then obligatory net curtains - and all I said was a typical flat and typical furniture for Poland for this period.

But I CAN see great potential, just provided a MUCH more intelligent LLM is used! ;-)

I think the frustration just stems from the growing disconnect between the top-down vision and the reality for everyday devs. If you listen closely to the keynote, the pitch was heavily focused on enterprise AI workflows, Fortune 500 scaling, and investor board meetings,which, coincidentally, aligns perfectly with a certain enterprise company's business model.

But when it comes to actually building and maintaining this massive new juggernaut, the call to action suddenly shifts to 'we need 100 more Jurgens' to step up and volunteer their time. It feels a bit ironic that the grassroots community is being asked to essentially subsidize enterprise R&D for free, while the basics meant to drive real grassroots adoption, like instantly accessible session videos for newcomers, or truly painless version upgrades, remain an afterthought.

If the 'marketing engine' is really going to the next level to drive adoption like the keynote claimed, the day-one follow-through has to match the pitch.
