Shit take.
I used to think like this. And then I realized I wouldn't accept "one of the good ones," the "poison skittle" analogy, or collective responsibility based on immutable(ish) characteristics in any other context. And I haven't accepted it in other contexts. I got a "credit to your race" comment from someone a single time and never saw them again. I like to stay logically consistent. So I simply reject the idea that anyone needs to put up with being talked about this way. And I certainly reject excusing casual bigotry.
There is a difference between venting about bad men and venting that men are bad. We're adults. Start acting like it. Use the words to say what you actually mean. Turns out that for decent people, the words we say and the order we say them in fucking matter.
After 10 years interacting with Men's Lib I'm sick of acting like it's okay. It is not okay. And if any younger guys are reading this wondering if they should push back on the bigotry, just know that the kind of discomfort that precedes growth is not the same discomfort you feel when you're being talked down to despite doing nothing wrong. You're allowed to stand up for yourself, even if it's against a woman. Even if she's right about bad men. You do not need to just sit there and take it. Because there are people out there who have the maturity to critique the system without spitting in your face while they do it. Find those people.
So let's get this 2012 Tumblr ass idea out of here and update our mental model to something that's actually going to create durable alliances, and not just score us brownie points on social media.

Right? I loved that my players used the negative space on the map to figure out there was a secret entrance behind the statue. That shows engagement, doesn't it?

Well thats just a failure of imagination. Arrays and focusing lenses can enable you to do a lot with only a few watts

Real shit? Go get a vapcap. Same concept but makes you look less like a crackhead.
They hit like a freight train too, and if you obey the click, you won't accidentally combust.

When it came out, I really hated it.
I remember being in the theater and feeling my joy and excitement for Star Wars draining slowly, until the end of the film came and went, and I left the building wondering if I was even going to bother seeing Episode 9, whenever that came out.
Of course, I did go back to see Episode 9, so I guess it didn't damage my image of Star Wars all that much in the long term.
But I've still never really come around on TLJ. In my eyes, it's still a mashed up ball of interesting ideas and wasted potential, made retroactively worse by its successor not really following through on the good ideas it did have.
The one way in which my opinion has changed is that I now see it as the best of the sequel trilogy. It's the only one of the three that I think actually did have an opinion, and even if I didn't like the result all that much, I have to respect that it actually tried to have direction, and do more than people-please. In the end, it was really only a few different decisions away from being a movie I could fall in love with. Oh, and it was shot beautifully, which I was only able to recognize upon later viewing, when I was less upset about everything else in the film.
Bottom line, I'll probably never watch it again, and I still don't love it, but I've reached, I guess, a begrudging acceptance of it for what it wanted to be. Not that it needs the approval of a now old man who grew up with the prequels.
I do still detest the throne room fight, though, and I will die on that hill. It's not even the best choreography in the sequels and I'm a little sad it made it to screen like that. But oh well.

That's kind of a hurtful myth in its own right though. I've had guys both big and small in the genital department who have been all over the map in sex quality. Size has virtually nothing to do with it.

requires professional styling to achieve something like braids or twists, etc. So not as frequent but I assume more time consuming and expensive
Time consuming, perhaps, but definitely not more expensive. I have dreads and my hair did it by itself. I used to keep it cut very short, but when I moved out and went to a college in a (very) white town, the only local barber told me "oh, we don't cut that," so I just kind of let it go with nothing more than washing and after about a month I had dreadlocks. This is what people mean by saying it's a "natural" hairstyle. It's just what your hair eventually does (or rather one possible thing) without any product or harsh chemicals like lye -- very much the opposite of straightening. Twists aren't that much more complicated, really.
When I did go to a shop to touch it up (tighten the roots, pull in undreaded hair, etc), it was $65, and I was doing it once every 3 or 4 months, maybe. Since the pandemic, I haven't even done that, and I retwist at home since it's perfectly easy to do, just makes your arms feel like they're made of lead by the time you're done.

are good at telling the difference between a jerk and someone with autism
As someone who is also on the spectrum: No, they aren't. At least in my experience.

It might be small comfort, but what I do is have a separate partition on my hard drive for work. When I’m done with the day, I reboot and I’m back in personal land. It isn’t much but it does help keep some separation there.

As someone who used to walk to the office, it’s just mentally more difficult to get out there when the exercise isn’t built into your day to day schedule. It took me a while to really get back into the habit of riding in a bike trainer for half an hour a day, and it still just doesn’t feel right.

That's fucking awesome

I found that the strains that contained very little or no CBD are more likely to make me panic. Getting a 1:1 strain is much more mellow and doesn’t activate any kind of panic response. In fact, it actually helps me put the anxiety to rest for a few hours.

Not to be an asshole, but we haven't actually used animal insulin in any meaningful quantity for a long time now. R and N are actually human insulin produced by genetically modified yeast or bacteria, so they don't come with the risks of allergy that porcine/bovine insulins did. Humalog/Novolog/Novorapid/Apidra/Fiasp/etc are all modifications of the normal human insulin molecule that let them work faster since they're not being secreted directly into the bloodstream like endogenous insulin is. Fiasp actually has some other special sauce in it to theoretically make it go even faster than the others.
Common misconception, but I'm hoping someone else who doesn't know might read this later.

So, I read the article, and I guess I don't really see the problem?
Like, if you want to sleep in, beat off and play video games for a couple days while it's just you in the house, who cares? Who is being harmed by this? Why does doing your own relaxing thing for a while -- like a spa weekend where you don't have to leave your house -- make you a "garbage person?" I don't get it. And moreover, why is this targeted at men? I know at least two women who go full on Gamer™ mode when their husband/wife are away for a few days. They seem fine and just like they're taking a couple days off of having to be a "grown up."
Maybe someone can explain what I'm missing?

Nu ani anquietas.
I am willing to rely on that because the entire thing is fragile even the way we did it pre-internet, except the health outcomes were worse and it was easier to make a human error and accidentally kill yourself.
And no, not a business decision first. The quality of life improvement has been absolutely massive. I wear sensors that can alert my emergency contacts if I get into a dangerous situation, I send data back to my doctor that can be analyzed and acted on in our quarterly appointments. I dont even pay a subscription, the web component is such a big part of the ideal function.
If you ever had to live with a chronic illness, and the management of said illness was massively improved by having modern tech on it, you wouldn't be dismissive of the need to keep the internet around.
Unless you'd be cool sacrificing a significant minority of the population just because you didnt wsnt to spend the long term effort to fight back against the bad stuff while holding onto the good stuff.
Just intellectual laziness and moral torpor.
