That's fair. I did too until decided to give it some explicit meaning. Nice to see m_ and know tgat noone will change that variable at runtime you know

I always do m_VariableName for serialized fields, this usually implies for me that variable should only be set from editor

As a bonus, unity automatically removes m_ business in inspector, but it's easy to find all "inspector" stuff by typing m_ in IDE

Autocomplete is slower than typing it by hand if it decides to lag (and visual studio does that a lot). Or if you have multiple variables that start the same way it can just get things wrong

In the end I always have to double check if autocomplete suggests correct thing which takes me out of typing.

That said I still don't usually abbreviate anything except making context into ctx
