Please let this be true. I’m desperate to find a shred of something entertaining in the Trump circus.

I’ve been doing this for 15+ years. It’s taken a toll in many ways. At the risk of coming across as the old guy/Debbie Downer, I no longer have the passion and energy required for another evolution of the sales engineer role or the software technology industry. I accept that I’m in the last few years of my career and happily accept any of the limitations associated with this approach.

It’s a reflection of the current state of the American electorate. You can deny that all you want.

Debbie Downer here. Nothing in tech is guaranteed these days. Programmers are being laid off everywhere. The industry is in a complete state of flux and chaos.

I feel your pain, brother. Enterprise software is all I’ve ever done. 54 now and I’m just over it. I do not have the passion or the energy to become an expert on all things AI.

Unfortunately, completely switching gears professionally and hoping to stay even remotely in the same comp range is not a realistic goal.

You’re worrying too much about this. It’s no longer a badge of shame. So many people have been affected over the past few years.

I’ve spent my entire career in various software roles. I’m 54 now. I can’t wait to get out.

Take the time to explore how AI can automate many activities and expedite projects. It’s not cheating. It allows you to focus on more value-added tasks.

You can embrace AI or resist, but there is no putting that toothpaste back in the tube.

Dealing with the grounds responsibly. I compost. It can be a mess.

They gave me a refurbished HP Windows machine. The battery will give me about 1.5 hours.

You will have no problem going through TSA with a CPAP. They probably see hundreds every day. You will probably be asked to take it out of its case. That’s about it.

I travelled weekly for work for fifteen years. I think once you’ve traveled with your CPAP a few times you will find that the minor inconveniences you list are just not justified by leaving it at home.

I don’t think there are enough Dems in KS to swing a statewide vote. A more likely scenario is that enough Republicans are so disaffected and dissatisfied that they stay home.
