And now we exclude entire packs and somehow believe that everyone understands during their first event that they pull one that they need to call the judge before they accidentially merged the cards with their pool and can't remember which cards they pulled from there and which cards they pulled from elsewhere.

For us the little writing test was because we were given fountain pens afterwards and the idea was that you would break the metal "feather" at the front if you pressed too hard. I also pressed hard with pencils and the teachers recommended me not switching to a fountain pen yet. Mum gave me one anyways and I actually did apply less pressure with that one, there was no problem.

Reminds me of the word monkey. It used to describe a paraphyletic group (a group that is made up of some, but not all descendents of a common ancestor) of "all primates that have a tail" or "all simiiformes that aren't apes" or similar.
Nowadays people just use it as a common word for the group "simian".

Don't forget that language (scientific or common) is just the current consensus of what a word means. If enough people agree that a monkey is any simian or that a dinosaur is any prehistoic reptile, this might be how future generations use that word. Similarly, if a scholar now proposes that dimetrodon belongs into the clade of Dinosauria for solid reasons, and the scientific community agrees, this will change. However, both sets of language will change independently, based on their own rules. Just because we might reshape dinosaur to mean any prehistoric reptile, this will not change Dinosauria. Similarly, just because english speakers redefine dinosaur, the German Dinosaurier might not change alongside it. See camel (common englisch word for Camelus) and Kamel (common German word for Camelidae). All are different sets of language with different rules.

And yes, I generally do agree that there is value in common language following scientific language, but all of the above is exactly the reason why scientists came up with their own language system and ignore common names or at least define which scientific name they mean, when they mention any common names. (Or at least they should, on my old field just dropping "rhesus macaque" without citing "Macaca mulatta, Zimmermann 1780" became surprisingly common among papers, even though this is supposed to add clarity in case of name changes or confusing common names...)

Had that with a shark plush from amazon. It was filled with something organic, can't remember but seeds and lavender. Gutted the poor thing, tossed it in the washing machine (in a pillow case) but sadly it did not better. He's still lying in a corner as the person who reacted to him also got tired after me washing and airing it out.

Yeah, as a biologist I was positively surprised how they managed to point out different biological concepts in the world of Pokémon. It's lovely to read about Pokémon examples of adaptation to your surroundings or how the same body parts can serve different purposes in different species! And I love seeing all those Pokédex entries we saw for years brought to life with new illustrations in a cute art style.

I actually expected more of a cute art book (which probably matches the amount of text) but those additional explanations about each section are really great.

They first build up a story to scare you into believing your account is actually at risk and when you start to act irrational, they will pretend to be the support and try to steal your password or demand money for restoring access.

If anyone gets one of these messages, report it and do not engage with the scammer. Your account is saved, the screens they show are fake and your account is not at risk.

Depends. There is no rule that says they can't sell you tap water or that they even have to hand out tap water. If you just order water without gas you'll get bottled water and billed accordingly. But if you ask for tap water friendly it will usually work.
