Why would the pause be disabled exactly? Wouldn't it still be active if the player controlling Kite does it?

And yeah, vulnerabilities is something I've seen discussed more often as AI recomps are coming out. I'm not in the dev space so I know nothing of potential ramifications, but I hope it's something that's in the highest consideration of whoever's working on these.

Don't misunderstand me, if this game is developed without a certain important ethos in mind it will absolutely lose what made the original game special; what I'm saying is that with passion and love for what the character is for (and Spyro is special for different reasons to different people, while I love the original trilogy and couldn't stand the first two Legend of Spyro games while really, REALLY liking the third one, there's a lot of people for whom Legend of Spyro is what Spyro is, as well as people that are considerably younger that grew up with Skylanders), you can make a good game. It's going to be impossible to please everyone: what we know is that the trilogy remake sold well enough (as well as seeing a good enough reception for Crash 4, which homages the gameplay of its own classic trilogy quite well) that those people are most likely the audience the devs will cater to. And obviously there's going to be executive meddling: the gaming industry is simply too big now to allow for spur of the moment ideas the likes of which we had in the PS1/PS2 days (even if it's unrelated, if you're into Zelda, I highly recommend watching the latest Ceave video for a really great perspective on that).

I think aging up Spyro would have made little sense: we see adult dragons in the series barely doing anything, I think that's the joke that they have to uphold: adults are useless, kids are cool and do cool stuff. An aged Spyro would have also likely been too powerful if we go by modern fantasy standards, which would have meant needing to abandon the childlike wonder of exploration that this game promises in favor of something too serious.

I'm tempering my expectations, but I really believe Spyro deserves the Crash 4 comeback, and more people deserve to experience the charm of his world and characters.

11:11 - I prefer classic, turn based didn't click for me at all. Funniest scene is definitely Yakuza 0's introductory scene for Majima at the Grand.
