Oooh, that's a fun design. I love cards like this that put your opponents in a place where they're forced to make touch choices.

ShadowDcord

The way EDH allows you to express yourself with some really unique deck building opportunities that'd never work in a Standard or Modern meta is really pleasant. That diversity in decklists is what really makes each game new and interesting too!

I've been playing [[Zedruu, the Greathearted]] for 15 years now, quite literally since the precon came out. I tinker with it a lot, but I always keep the deck together even as I change the general theme every 5 years or so. The current iteration is a shopkeep Zedruu, selling powerful equipment to opponents as political tools and then using effects like [[Insurrection]] and [[Armory Automaton]] to temporarily take back sold gear to leverage against my customers.

Budget lands for my superfriends deck? Thank you Reality Fracture.

ShadowDcord

Well one of the effects would kill it first unfortunately, canceling the other from activating

ShadowDcord

Only second to Final Sacrifice in familiar crimes

ShadowDcord

[[Círdan, the Shipwright]] and all the voting shenanigans going on always has the table thinking more politically, which I especially enjoy. Forces everyone to make active choices each time he attacks or enters

ShadowDcord

Oh sweet, a nice reward for choosing to play Mono-R Dragons rather than WUBRG or Temur. I'm glad to see it and my [[Nogi]] deck will be as well

ShadowDcord

Since it's on a land, there's at least a lot less opportunity cost associated with putting it in your deck compared to most other cards.

ShadowDcord

I guess with that new Stardew Valley card, [[Zedruu]] is going to start a farming career.

ShadowDcord

Still waiting to get my confirmation e-mail, but waiting excitedly!

ShadowDcord

That's a backstory with some fun lore implications for Nex

ShadowDcord

Well ain't this basically like having two Arahbo's when she's out in my [[Arahbo, Roar of the World]] deck. Honestly going to be a pretty great inclusion.

ShadowDcord

Good reprint and nice art. Great for any Loki deck looking for a Spark Double

ShadowDcord

I've run a good bit of Planechase in EDH and I quite like that idea. I used to run Fractured Powerstone and folks would often steal it or copy it to have some extra fun with the planar deck and it seems like a nice addition to give everyone one.

I really enjoy this backstory. It shows how necromancy can be used in a more heroic light while still sharing that it is a fairly tragic magic born from death. Ushkarak out here in the running to win the most tragic iconic backstory award though. Also shout out to the Old Cults, quality villains that need more love

ShadowDcord

Between this and Fin Fang Foom, my [[River Song]] deck is going to be visiting the Marvel universe for a good time soon.

Some more options for characters that worship deities who don't lean Holy or Unholy would be nice. Psychopomp Ushers have a lot of support currently thematically via archetypes and various anti-undead options, but anything for someone who wants to lean heavily into being a priest of an Arbiter, Eldest, Protean Lord, or even Great Old One / Outer God is lacking wider support. I imagine the Eldest will get some decent focus with Feybound, but that does leave out the rest still.

Currently, my favorite deck to play is [[Rocco, Cabaretti Caterer]] Sagas which focuses on the Final Fantasy Summons with lots of counter manipulation. However, I always have fun with my [[Zedruu, the Greathearted]] and [[Círdan, the Shipwright]] decks. Zedruu is fun for exchanging a bunch of cards around the board and Círdan is fun because it's a lot of voting, making the game very interactive

ShadowDcord

Oh that's very cute. Plays well with the Smaug token made by [[There and Back Again]]

ShadowDcord

[[Pit of Offering]] ain't too bad of an include for 3+ color decks. Works wonders in my 5 color deck.

ShadowDcord

I do! Runs all the mill bears and bear token makers plus the [[Harrow]] style ramp cards. Most of the support was thrown in there for [[Lumra, Bellow of the Wilds]], so I try to focus on getting lands into the graveyard specifically.

My Ayula deck with a self-mill subtheme keeps on winning, baby! KEEP GIVING ME 10/10 BEARS

  1. [[Figure of Destiny]] was one of my first promo cards and first rares I ever got. It would lead me to building Boros Kithkins for Standard and getting my first top 3 finish at my old LGS.
  2. [[Ajani Vengeant]] was my first experience with a planeswalker and still one of my favorite planeswalker characters to this day. It also made very interested in land destruction abilities.
  3. [[Zedruu, the Greathearted]] is my oldest commander deck and my first ever precon (and my third deck after mediocre attempts via [[Child of Alara]] and [[Linessa, Zephyr Mage]]). I still play it to this day. It got me into the political aspect of commander that still remains my favorite part of the format.
  4. [[Insurrection]] is how I've won a lot of games of commander over the years. It also taught me as a young card game player that I liked winning with other people's cards the most of all.
  5. [[Edric, Spymaster of Trest]] was my first serious attempt at making a commander once the format became popular. I wanted to build group hug with him and it worked out alright, though it's much better these days and I've switched to [[Círdan, the Shipwright]].
  6. [[Drogskal Captain]] is a card that was central to my Bant Spirits Standard deck in Innistrad block. I was gifted 2 copies, but needed 2 more. The series of trades to get them were wild, but I'll always remember being 11 and trading for one with Pokemon cards to a kid who didn't even really know what Magic was but happened to have the last copy I needed.
  7. [[Tamiyo, the Moon Sage]] was the central part to my prerelease Avacyn Restored deck. It was also the first time I opened a planeswalker in sealed, which was very excting for young me. The last game ended up being very tense, but she pulled through for me.
  8. [[Arahbo, Roar of the World]] was the commander precon that got me back into Magic. I dropped off of it once I started high school, but when I saw the precon on The Command Zone, it sparked my interest in the game again immediately. I always wanted to make a cat deck and I finally had the basis to do so. This also brought me into commander as my main format.
  9. [[Ayula, Queen Among Bears]] was the last deck I built before COVID-19 stopped me from really playing for 3 years. It was also the final deck in my goal to build a commander deck of all 5 mono colors. These days, it's the only deck I built myself pre-COVID with the same commander and 1 of 4 decks pre-COVID I still play.

We got to see some stuff about Tech Core for Starfinder 2e and Lost Omens Cheliax for Pathfinder 2e! Strix and Fetchling are finally being remastered and Bugbears are being added as playable options.
