We don’t know if hell is eternal. From what I know Allah actually releases people from hell. Also they wouldn’t return to earth they’d be in Jenna.

I haven’t seen it mentioned but you also have to recite the Shahda in your native language. You’ll usually do it in Arabic and also your native tongue or so I did. There’s some quote from the prophet or something but I don’t remember it right now.

None of them ever have history. It’s AI they’re training ai bots.

TLDR:
I entered research because I genuinely love physics and want to deeply understand what I study. However, my group values fast publication over understanding, and watching others publish quickly using simulation software as a black box makes me question whether my slower, curiosity driven approach is worth it. The isolation and mismatch in philosophy are starting to affect me emotionally.

———————————————————-
Publishing Papers Using Software
I feel extremely disturbed these days, not because I am doing poorly in my research, but because of the group I am part of.
The group I work with focuses on a subdomain of physics, and almost all of our work involves molecular dynamics simulations. For these simulations, people use an existing molecular dynamics package. I was assigned a problem that was not implemented in the package, so I had to learn the source code myself. Since it is a very large codebase, it took me months just to understand where modifications even needed to be made. The learning curve was extremely steep.
Eventually, even though it was outside my comfort zone, I managed to do it, and I learned a lot in the process. This was what I believed a PhD should be about: learning new things, struggling through difficult problems, and accepting that some work will get published while some will not.
However, I have a colleague who joined around the same time as me. Due to certain circumstances, he shares both the same master's and PhD supervisor, so he is somewhat favored by my professor. Within a year, he had already completed three projects. Part of the reason is that he is more focused than me, but focused on what? Publishing papers using the software.

I realized that the problems assigned to him never required implementing anything new in the code. He could simply use the software as a black box without understanding how anything works internally. This person does not even know that the differential equations solved in the backend require mathematics beyond ordinary differential equations. He spends almost no time learning new physics. Honestly, his fundamentals in physics and mathematics seem weak for someone who has already published three papers. He once openly admitted how much he hates equations.
He also does not seem interested in improving his understanding. All he does is submit jobs with modified parameters and publish papers. Since my professor also has a strong publication oriented mentality, they work very well together. My professor has even openly admitted how much he hates teaching, including teaching the very subject he works in.

Most of what I see from them is writing papers, preparing slides, taking snapshots of simulations, and color correcting those images to make them look appealing. I honestly cannot remember a single time I saw him trying to learn new physics or deeply understand the simulations. To them, that would just be a waste of time. Instead, they use the same heuristic, simplified arguments in every paper.
The frustrating part is that this is not unique to him. This is how almost everyone in my group works. Yet they all pretend to deeply love science.
Meanwhile, I cannot treat the software as a black box. I want to understand everything. I spend my time reading papers, studying mathematics, taking advanced courses, and trying to strengthen my understanding simply out of curiosity and love for physics. I want to become a better researcher tomorrow than I am today.

Even for my own paper, I am trying to solve parts of the problem analytically to gain deeper understanding. Naturally, all of this takes time. I genuinely love physics and want to keep learning more and more. I want to understand what has already been done so that someday I can come up with better problems and hopefully better solutions. But this approach is slow.

I would have been fine publishing at a slower pace if the people around me shared even some degree of this passion for understanding the subject. Before joining this position, I assumed that most researchers would care deeply about the science itself, not just producing paper after paper by changing parameters in simulation software.
Because my philosophy differs from that of my professor and the rest of the group, I have gradually become isolated. I feel completely unwelcome now. The person sitting next to me and I barely exchange a single word all day, while the rest of the group frequently comes over to talk with him.

Every day I try to arrive at the lab motivated, but then I watch these people publish paper after paper, and it makes me wonder: why go through all this struggle? Why spend so much time truly learning things when I could publish far more by simply using software without understanding it? In the end, it feels like the only thing that matters is the number of papers.

Why should I not just accept their philosophy?
Life has stopped feeling enjoyable lately. This isolation is eating me from the inside.

For anyone having a hard time reading this guys essay.

Define rich. For some just being able to buy things when they want is rich. Money is not everything. Feel bad for this guys wife.

ShadowRL7666

A total idiot. I’m happy you can gather someone’s full intelligence and ability through a nonsensical argument. :)

ShadowRL7666

Sure

If it was there would be huge security flaws in everything you touch. Just like this guys entire website. You’re outdated and know nothing about software engineering computer etc.

Vibe coded lol.

Edit: youre a vibe coder and you rip people off niceeeee!!!!

Also edit: why are ram prices so high “Redditors who down vote me” Same people who vibe code websites like this.

Yeah I was self harming and then also drank alcohol my parents were just not helping made things worst. Had to go to the hospital because I had a deep cut while drunk and ended up just saying I was drunk and told them where the alcohol was.

What I got from that was, I have to pay my own medical bill because I did it to myself, since there was alcohol “I broke the contract” which they had with me to even live there lol which they stated me as “man child” and then to make things worst because I broke the contract I had to start paying for my car insurance, restricted internet times, and that 500 dollar medical bill.

Friend gave me a bottle maybe like less than a quarter left of a drink they checked my room again which it was in there because I didn’t want it to be in the car incase cops or something you never know so called me asking if I have a problem like with alcohol.

Tried to say I have a problem I continued self harming because I was just so low and my mom ended up kicking me out the house because she said “I didn’t know what I would do with my baby brother and stuff in the house” so I was homeless for little over six months.

I have my first apartment and I don’t drink or do anything like that anymore. Though that’s part of my story.

There was absolutely times where if I had a gun I would’ve done it. One of those moments was I told my mom to give me a gun and I’ll end it right now and she told me to go find my own gun. Within that hour I truly would’ve pulled the trigger.

Furthermore doesn’t help that I ended up getting bed bugs while homeless too that sucked pretty bad anything that touched me I got scared thinking it was the bugs.

This all happened at 18-19 I was self harming since sophomore year of HS. I’m 20 now though. Doing much better as I said.

Yes good ol https://github.com/massgravel which is funnily enough hosted on a owned Microsoft website anyways!

Go back to school might want to restart at grade one and learn how life works. I don’t know how you manage to get this stupid. May god help you because you need it my friend.

Well how much would you want for it? It’s just a collector item for me.

You’re saying nobody gives a fuck. But we’re talking about people in Texas and peoples skin color so. It’s in there for people absolutely do give a fuck.

ShadowRL7666

Say that to the wanna be new Texas governor hating on us “dirty” Muslims. I’m a white guy from here btw but she suggests when she’s not from Merica we should go back lol.

You’re an idiot

Also if you’d like my boss just did a podcast about the solar future and what we’re looking to do.

Here’s that if you’d like to listen as well.
