are they happy is the wrong question to ask. dogs will happily put up with all kinds of shit to feel like part of their owners' lives.

my dog would rather come with me and sit in the car for an hour while i surf. she likes it. she feels like she's part of my life. she seems really sad when i tell her that she has to stay at home. She's not dumb. She knows where i'm going and she wants to go.

She doesn't know that it's just too hot out. I know that. i leave my sad girl at home because it's what's in her best interest. not what makes her happiest. She can be happy when i come home.

I let mine investigate harmless litter. She discovered it sucks, and now she mostly ignores it.

My dog (F) was assigned purple at birth. Meaning, thats the color ribbon the breeder put on her from day one.

I have tried other colors, but i found i took it weirdly personally when people misgendered her. I decided i would really just lean into purple on her.

People STILL misgender her all the time. I think they look more at the person than the dog. They call my dog by my pronouns. If they think your dog is a girl, its not because of lavender or purple collars. Its because they see you, and the truth is, it doesn’t really matter much for dogs.

Thats barbaric. This is clearly what brands are for.

I got a puppy two years ago. I had to quit cold turkey. She only recently became grown up enough that i can actually get a game in.

These guys are obviously c++ programmers who are fans of the standard template library. std is the namespace they go to for all their data containers.

My brother came down with a really aggressive lung cancer not long after covid. Thats not covid per se. he was a lifelong smoker. He probably had cancer. Its just that it really took off after covid.

That alone could just be coincidence. However, there is evidence that points to covid as a cancer catalyst.

There are things that are easier on a shortboard, its easier to get vertical and smack the lip. Wahpow!

Its easier to make tight turns right in the critical part of the wave.

Its way easier to do an air reverse or a rodeo.

The thing is, that stuff is really pretty hard. Its just some of it is damn near impossible on a longboard.

Thats not to say you shouldn’t try a short board. You should. Eventually you’ll get back on the longboard and realize you can paddle through waves way easier on it. You can catch waves way easier on it, etc.

You might find that there’s something rewarding to the fact that you do have to work more on the shortboard though.

i will have to give pinapple a try. I never really thought of it. i can imagine it's good. it also opens the door to a peanut butter and POG sandwich if i get some marmalade and guava jam in there too.

Cherry is great. i've had it. It's really phenomenal with almond butter, but now we are just talking about a classic flavor pairing.

I lived with a diva pug at one point. She wouldn’t go outside at all in the rain. She would just stare out the door and shake and act like her whole life was so unfair. (Which for a pug is sort of true)

My Boston terrier had a can do attitude. He didn’t like the rain, but he knew he had a job to do so he did what he needed asap and came back. Perfect boy.

My current dog, a barbet, LOVES going out in the rain. She sees rain and is like ,”aw yeah! Dad! Lets go get wet and muddy!!! Lets goooooooo!”
