By decently cropped, what is the new pixel x pixel resolution? Having the extra megapixels to do so is great, but you can’t expect a small crop to look tack sharp once cropped heavily
I also think the plain ass sky behind is making it hard to get good colors as the contrast is so meh. Get them on a sunnier day with sun behind you and ideally not just an empty sky for a background.

You need to learn the exposure triangle. Phones use heavy AI image processing when taking photos and (often) also use HDR or silently take multiple pictures without you knowing then merges them. ISO 800 may be high for that camera but isn’t that high for other modern day cameras. Look at the metadata from your S21 and see what settings it used and then use those same ones on the T7

I get you’re talking majorities here, but I consider myself an avid gamer but run Arch on my laptop and only keep windows on my gaming pc to play TFT with my partner and the occasional ARAM. I hate being on that computer though and really look forward to being able to get it switched over to Linux and would prefer Arch so it is the same as my laptop. Though I suppose running another distro would be ok in the meantime, I’d be afraid that would just further leave a disparity between distros and wind up in the same boat as now just a different sea.

It’s not that you suck, but your settings are all wrong for what you are shooting. 8000 iso on a bright sunny day is way too high. No need to be at 1/8000s either. On the other one there is no reason to be at f/1.8, that gives a narrow focus zone and generally lenses perform their worst wide open. Go to f/4 or f/8, go to around 1/250 or faster and keep your iso as low as possible to still get correct exposure and your photos will instantly look a thousand times better
