Any plan to support mods?

ShamelessC

Mod support?

ShamelessC

None of this was the problem. The problem was the AI of your companion repeatedly ignoring you to the point of making you feel gaslit that you were wrong about the solution to a puzzle (when you often weren't).

Having said that I love this game and would replay it again with none of its issues fixed.

ShamelessC

Jesus Christ, relax.

edit: (from the video) "the rumor was wrong, we hadn't solved Navier-Stokes, we had solved the Euler problem".

What part of that contradicts with what I said?

ShamelessC

This is lacking some nuance. The other researchers were working on a sub-problem that would chip away at Navier Stokes. The concern is still legitimate because apparently the approach used by the agents was somewhat similar to their approach.

ShamelessC

Also America was basically destroyed by the resonance cascade and the 7 hour war. TV broadcasts wouldn't have even been a thing. At the very least, the electrical grid would be down nationwide.

ShamelessC

This movie came out before viral referred to "sudden popularity". Further, if i recall it had a decent turnout at the box office. I don't know if they made money or not but it was certainly in the zeitgeist at the time...

ShamelessC

Do they have a research paper or any source code available? I'm curious to what degree the "brain" is an approximation (most likely).

ShamelessC

We have Children of Men. That's close enough for me.

ShamelessC

So you play with new features that weren't in the original...

ShamelessC

She's religious. That's all. They're drawing parallels between religion and fanaticism like the Dark Army. Similar themes explored in season 2.

ShamelessC

Read the title.

ShamelessC

I would say you'll be confused either way, but less so if you've played the first one (which is a great game).

ShamelessC

I've seen ten comments now comparing these games. I've played both extensively and they couldn't be more different. We had open world games well before Tears of the Kingdom too. WTF are you people talking about? Aside from being open world, what other similarities exist _at sll_ between these two games??

ShamelessC

You're a really unpleasant person. If you'd read my post you'd realize that I agree with you - just only when it matters i.e. professional work. I get the feeling you don't work as a software engineer though.

ShamelessC

Fair enough thanks for the honesty about your unflinchingly rigid biases.

ShamelessC

4chan did _not_ get Trump elected despite its fringe nature. Social media played a large part of which 4chan is a tiny fraction of. Twitter, facebook were far more responsible for shifting the Overton Window toward the culture wars Americans care about rather than actual policy. Ultimately, it was Americans that did it. A variety of confounding factors.

ShamelessC

That simply isn't true. There's a whole spectrum between understanding and not understanding generated code. The onus is on the developer to understand as much as is needed for the given task. When the task is a volunteer effort, that requirement goes down a bit. When the outcome can be verified via a classical automated process that requirement goes down more. Not zero, but 100% understanding isn't required in _all_ scenarios and a blanket statement that it does is denying simple facts of pragmatism in the modern AI paradigm.

ShamelessC

No response at all would have been more helpful than this response.

ShamelessC

What you're describing (and what the parent comment is referring to) is called requirements gathering in software engineering. Just FYI.

ShamelessC

This is basically ancient history at this point.

ShamelessC

Hot take.

ShamelessC

Yes.

ShamelessC

This answer is so overconfident and lacks so much nuance the amount of effort to dispute it simply isn't worth it.

ShamelessC

Yeah never mind you're not worth the effort. Best of luck with calling people idiots for having different opinions than yours.
