Should I run Google Ads or Meta Ads For My SAAS? (self.microsaas)

I've tried most of the major ones over the past few years, here's my honest take:
Hootsuite - Most feature-rich but honestly overkill for most people. The UI feels cluttered and it's expensive ($99+/month). Only worth it if you're managing 10+ accounts for an agency.
Later - Great for visual planning, especially Instagram. The drag-and-drop calendar is smooth and the preview feature is solid. Pricing is fair ($25-80/month). Best for content creators who care about aesthetics.
Metricool - Underrated IMO. Does basically everything Buffer does but adds competitor analysis and better analytics. Pricing is reasonable ($18-149/month).
Honest comparison to Buffer: Most alternatives have similar scheduling features, but where they ALL fall short is predictive analytics. They show you what happened, but none of them tell you what WILL perform well before you post.
I actually switched to Wave Vision which focuses on AI-powered predictions instead of just scheduling. It analyzes your past posts, tells you what's likely to go viral, and gives specific recommendations (like "your audience engages 3x more at 8pm" or "your behind-the-scenes content outperforms tutorials 2.5x").
The big difference is it's personalized to ur audience patterns, not just generic "best practices." At $37/month it's cheaper than most scheduling tools, and honestly way more useful. I'd rather know WHAT to post than just have a fancy calendar to schedule mediocre content.
Most scheduling tools are basically the same - drag content to a calendar and post it. Wave Vision actually tells you which content will perform before you waste time creating it. The AI video analysis breaks down exactly why a post succeeded or flopped, down to the hook, pacing, and CTA.
If you just need basic scheduling, Buffer is fine. But if you want to actually grow and understand what content works for YOUR specific audience, Wave Vision is the move. It's what Buffer should have been if they focused on growth instead of just organization.
What's your main goal, just managing posting schedules, or actually improving performance?

I think its gotta be Wave Vision IO. I can see all my social analytics from TT, YT and IG in one place and analyze all my content with AI based on my metrics. One of the best tools I have ever used as a marketer
Sharp-Efficiency-872
I'm not sure tbh
Sharp-Efficiency-872
This is smart

Yeah I feel like everyone is using Ai to help with content these days, I've been using Wave Vision IO I like it because it has AI content ideas generators but also shows me my analytics from all my platforms
Sharp-Efficiency-872
Privating a video after 45 minutes is not something you should do on any platform.
I think you need to take a step back and look at the big picture, those videos that underform may still be videos that help you curate a cult like audience
Views doesn't always corelate to building the brand you really want to build
Be patient, anyway I built a tool that might be able to help actually, its called Wave Vision IO. It lets you look at all your analytics from TT, YT and IG as a whole. So you can see the big picture and stop worrying about every post on every platform.
It also has an AI content creation tool that helps a lot with coming up with good content ideas and scripts
Lmk if you want me to send it to you, I'm giving it away right now

I used to stress about this constantly - planning months ahead felt rigid, but winging it daily felt chaotic. Then I realised the real problem: I had no way to know what content would actually WORK before posting it. So I'd spend an hour on a "strategic" video, post it, get 200 views.
Then throw up a random raw video in 2 minutes and it'd hit 50K. The issue isn't planning vs spontaneity. It's **confidence in what you're posting
Now I use a hybrid approach: I have brand pillars/themes (strategic) I create content when inspiration hits (spontaneous) - But I validate the content BEFORE posting (data-driven)
I basically test content against patterns from viral posts in my niche before deciding to post it. Saves me from wasting time on strategic content that flops, and helps me identify which spontaneous ideas are actually worth posting.
The "balance" everyone talks about isn't about planning cadence. It's about having a feedback loop that tells you what's working before you waste resources on it. That's the real unlock i found

Yeah man honestly I'm curious about this as well, I built an AI social media analytics tool called Wave Vision and have been posting the motivational, cinematic style content like eleven stoic type of stuff. Have only posted 6 posts of this style but one already hit 10,000 views.
My main concern is even tho the viewers are interested in business for the most part if they will convert to use my product (current running $1 paid trail month then goes to $37 the next month)
If they are a qualified audience, which I would assume a good chunk are because their interested in business quotes and motivation. How should I convert them, stories?
Or mix in some reels of same style talking about the product?
At this point I'm just going to keep posting and see where it goes

I think this is a pretty solid list man, pretty good diversity as well. One thing I might add is this social media analytics tool called Wave Vision I started using a few weeks ago. Pretty cool tool that uses my analytics and video transcripts to help me create better content
Sharp-Efficiency-872
Yeah thanks for this, I like the positioning point you made a lot. I dont want to come off as salesy thats what Claude told me would perform best lol
Sharp-Efficiency-872
Yeah I think it depends on your goals, I ran a creative agency the last 3 years and worked with a lot of clients that loved outsourcing the work but still have control and having it be a hands on experience (those ppl would always perfrom best)
That being said I've also worked with a bunch of people who had not so good experiences because they had a hard time giving up control of their social marketing.
I think in general it really just depends on the approach you want to take, style of content you want to do, and the goal you have from paid ads etc.
Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions
Sharp-Efficiency-872
Nah bro I need more reach and a better funnel lol
Sharp-Efficiency-872
Nice looking app man, I like it! Marketing is often a big hurdle for people to get over especially with solo first time builders. I actually recently launched a big project recently, an AI social media analytics tool that lets you analyze posts, hooks, content ideas, hashtags with Ai as well as see your metrics. I'm currently running a $1 30 day trial rn (ik not free sorry) but if your interested the tools called Wave Vision IO.
Anyways man best of luck on your journey, the cool thing about marketing is once you get it right once, its a lot easier to get it right time and time again. You got this OP!
Sharp-Efficiency-872
Yeah thats not us, here the site its an social media analytics tool that utilizes AI to analyze users posts, metrics, hooks, video ideas etc. Also shows the analytics from the platforms but driving differential factor is the AI tool
Sharp-Efficiency-872
Thanks for this man, you provided some good info for me to use!
Sharp-Efficiency-872
Yeah thanks for sharing this, maybe I should have been more clear in my OP. Its not a B2B analytics software for businesses. More of a B2C type of app for creators, influencers and small business owners. I'm not targeting high value business owners at this point as our price point is only $37. I do think X is a good place to find these people but not so sure about linkdin
Sharp-Efficiency-872
Okay what even is GEO lol
Sharp-Efficiency-872
Hey OP i feel your struggle theres a ton of analytics tools out there and a lot of them are either too expensive or too complex or both. I used Posthog for most of 2024 and it was pretty decent but the pricing didnt fit what I needed and it was too complex for what I needed without much AI integration available.
Right now Im just using GA4 tied with Wave Vision IO for content analytics and AI ideation. Its been working pretty well for me and my page hits in GA4 have been rising since I started posting consistent content and analyzing and revising on the Wave Vision tool.
I've liked it so far but I'd be interested to see what other tools your considering because I want to find an awesome tool for this as well haha
Sharp-Efficiency-872
Any services that you can just straight up buy followers or buy engagement is a scam and will kill your account. However there are some tools that help you understand your content better and make better videos. Heres my top 3:
- Crayo AI
- Sprout Social
- Wave Vision IO
Sharp-Efficiency-872
Yeah bro for your won sake dont do this
Sharp-Efficiency-872
np
What type of content are you posting?
