My tinfoil-ish hat theory is that they’re going against the previous generation by being against the stuff they liked. Millenials were more accepting of LGBTQ+ and kinks because their parents and grandparents were usually sticks in the mud about everything. Gen Z is acting the same way but it’s unfortunately an extreme version of modesty. Gen Z gets told “hey it’s cool if you have tattoos and dye your hair” and some think “that’s cringe I’m going to dress like a pilgrim and keep my skin intact”

Unfortunately, parents (dad) plays a lot into boys continuing with football. My younger cousin had two concussions by high school, his doctor said one more could blind him but his dad insisted that he sticks with it.

Technically, deck width plays into how hard/much you have to flick the board to spin/turn it. So a narrower deck would make that easier. However, wider decks feel more comfortable especially if you ride with your fingertips flat instead of pointed down. I like 33mm because it’s a good amount of width for my fingertips placement. Also, a lot of longtime fingerboarders have been around since the birth of this hobby, back when tech deck width was the size of pro boards; so a lot of people are used to it.

There’s this book called a short stay in hell with one of the most existential-dreading depictions of hell I’ve ever read. Basically, you are in a nearly infinite library and have to find a book that contains your life story to get out. However, books are usually filled with complete gibberish. Someone does the math on just how many books there are and it’s like if every atom in the universe was a book, that’s how many there are in the library.

Are New Yorkers actually buying this? I always had the impression that there’s so much variety in NYC that people buy from smaller restaurants/bodegas.
