I have the M3 Pro Max 36 GB 1 TB. I love it. The battery life has been excellent. I need the largest possible screen, partly because my eyesight isn't great. But something no one ever talks about is that the trackpad is much too big (unnecessarily so, IMO) and that causes me, under normal use, to trigger actions I don't want or mean to. I've gone into the System Settings and turned off everything I could, to no avail. I'd love the 16" with the 14" trackpad.

In Finnrick's ratings of retatrutide, #5 is GYC and #6 is Huaian Hanyou. When I search for them to order, I seem to be getting scam sites. Two sites for the former are only a few days old (yet with loads of reviews) and seem to be harvesting credit card data. The latter only takes crypto or direct bank transfers, with no consumer protection. I'm at a loss as to how to find the legit GYC or Hanyou, or any other safe source of peptides with good prices. Very frustrating. Any tips?

I have a slightly different problem. I'll be typing away normally and suddenly the cursor jumps to a previous spot and then, I'm typing in the middle of another word. I wonder if I need a new trackpad.

Your school might have student discounts. I agree with waiting until the new MacBook Pro 14" models are announced, probably this week. You might snag an especially good deal if you can wait until Black Friday sales after Thanksgiving. You might also consider a used model less than a year old so that you can buy Apple Care on it; I did that with my current 15" MBP and it worked out well.

How often do you restart the computer? Some people rarely do, but I find that restarting every few days helps.

I also have an iPhone 7. I had the battery replaced last year, I think, at Best Buy. It's been okay, not great. Still running the current iOS. I'm not a heavy cell phone user and I'm happy with it overall for now.

I do everything: I always have a keyboard skin, which is just a couple dollars, to protect against spills and dust. I have a screen protector, and have also had wrist rest protectors (but I never cover the trackpad, as that affects performance). I always get Apple Care; even after it expires, they continue to help on the phone. This is the sturdy case I use:

My main advice, though, is that at a certain point, it's unwise to keep updating the OS, because the older CPU just can't keep up and things slow down, even it it's supported. I'm not currently taking that advice, though—I have a 2015 MBP 15", which is a great machine, running Monterey. It started slowing down a lot. Finally, I did a very careful clean install, meaning that I reinstalled every program from scratch, redid all the settings, and only moved files. That helped a lot, but it's still not super zippy. Next time, while things are still running great, I think I'll stop updating.

I shut down the computer a couple times a week; it runs better that way, I find. I also run a free maintenance program, Onyx, at the first sign of trouble. When it's shut down, I spray a bit of white vinegar over the trackpad and wrist rest, and quickly wipe it with a lint-free cloth so get rid of stickiness. I also use that over the screen protector.

I'm still using a 7 and really like it EXCEPT that the camera is lousy in low light or glare. Before my next trip, when a better camera will matter, I'll upgrade. I do like being able to easily slip it into my pants pocket, harder to do with larger phones.

I have a 2015 MBP 15". I was having a lot of trouble with it for a while (not just since Monterey). I finally did a careful clean install, using the current OS, and it's been mostly running well.

Same here.

I have the same issue, and have for a long time. :(

I have two gmail accounts and one domain account, and I don't find "mail days to sync" in either. Can you give precise directions for finding that setting?

I was having similar problems with my 2015 15". I freed up space and then did a careful clean install. It's running much better.

I have a 2015 15" MBP. I think the hardware is still great but it's been working worse with recent OS's. Lots of spinning balls, freezes, and other erratic behaviors. It's not practical to go back to an old OS because I've updated a lot of software to keep running, so I'm feeling like I'll need to get a new one, which is frustrating.

ShepherdHoodwin

I have that model and love it. However, I regret having updated it (currently on Big Sur), as it has trouble coping with recent OS's. The cursor slips and slides, selecting things I don't intend. It freezes occasionally, which it never used to do. I get the beach ball a lot, which never used to happen. I'll be buying the new 16" this year but in your position, I'd use nothing later than Mojave (and maybe earlier).

ShepherdHoodwin

Thank you. I considered doing that but I went to a lot of trouble to update software and adjust to 64 bit, so I'll wait until Big Sur looks ready for prime time and cross my fingers. I've gotten somewhat used to working around the hiccups. BTW, if anyone here has experience with Big Sur on a 2015 MBP, I'd love to hear it.

I have a 15" 2015 MBP and I love it but I sorely regret having "upgraded" it to Catalina. It really slowed things down and caused various problems with Mail, etc. I'm holding off on Big Sur but hope that eventually it make things better. In any case, I'd recommend using an older OS.

ShepherdHoodwin

Is it getting hot?

I have a 2015 15" MBP that I like quite a bit, but have had endless problems since upgrading to Catalina, including slowdowns. I wish I wouldn't have upgraded; it's the worst OS I've experienced. I'm hoping that Big Sur, which is a major new OS, will correct the problems and be better. It may also help you. I agree that a SSD is much faster and a great investment. Still, it might be asking too much for a 2012 computer to run a current OS well. The new Apple chips are the future and worth considering. You might then want to keep your 2012 as a backup, always a good thing to have.

I found that my local Apple store treated me better (for example, being flexible when the machine was a little out of warranty, or replacing a problematic machine rather than doing another repair) if I bought it from them, even compared to buying it from Apple.com. So that's my preference on an expensive Mac. I did buy my latest MBP 15 (2015) from a private party at a surprisingly large savings, but only because it was still under AppleCare.
