Yeah, it's gonna be tight. I would not count on making it on time.

It was like 10 degrees in the Smokies one night in late April.

I definitely needed the pad. Was freezing without it. I think it's less about wind and more about the sleeping bag compressing underneath me so not providing any protection from cold.
SnacksOnAPlane
Yup. Did you really?!? Where do you live?
SnacksOnAPlane
Done.

Even cooler video:

To fuck up the economy. To rattle our faith in "the cyber". To show that it can be done. Lots of reasons, really.

502 is not the same thing, no.

I would actually worry about someone doing this on election day. As far as I know, news organizations get their vote counts from Secretary of State web sites for the 50 states. If a hacker could make those inaccessible, we may have something of a media blackout of the results. Not sure if this is really possible.

https://freethevote.us . Unfortunately we only have about 100 users so far. If you'd spread the word we'd be grateful; we've been working on it for months!
SnacksOnAPlane
Hmm, not a bad idea. I'll see how feasible it is.
SnacksOnAPlane
Thanks for spreading it! Yeah, I'd like to open it up to more platforms but I'm worried that we won't have the "one signup = one real person" semi-guarantee that we have with FB. But if you have ideas for overcoming that I'd love to hear them!
Sorry about the late reply, I've been out of internet coverage for a bit.

You can vote third party without throwing your vote away OR letting Trump win. https://freethevote.us

Can confirm that this solved the problem. Thanks again!
SnacksOnAPlane
Cool, thanks!

Wait, but I don't want to play phone audio on my watch. I just want my watch to show me who's calling when they call so I can decide whether to answer it or not. Is that not possible?
SnacksOnAPlane
No, it's off.
SnacksOnAPlane
Incoming call.
Hey, I've been reading a book on autism (NeuroTribes) and realizing how many of the symptoms apply to me. And today I was talking with my therapist about how I only started "acting normal" when I realized why people did things actually made some kind of sense, even if it was a wrongheaded approach given enough thought and analysis.
So I started /r/lifeexplainer as a place to collect explanations for why people do things that seem to defy explanation. I think there's always some kind of social or psychological reason for everything people do, and it'd be cool to document them and discuss them.
I think it's cool to be able to talk to people and actually delight them (not making them cringe). I think that being lonely made my life suck for a long time, and the opposite is much, much more enjoyable. Maybe by making the world make a little more sense we can make it easier for people to feel the same way.
