Probably should have finished reading their comment before replying to it.

That anecdote doesn't change the fact a majority of baby boomers voted for him.

Reagan is the thing I blame baby boomers for the most.

In the immortal words of the Republican president they reach deep for to defend their current policies

Government of the people businesses, by the people businesses, for the people businesses

Life long PNW resident. I definitely don't bother with multiple sets of tires. I just don't let them get worn down and lose traction.

Driving in the rain is not hard. Visibility is harder than navigating standing water on the road. You do not need specific tires.

That's worse.

I won't challenge the fuddy duddy part, but it's definitely worse than phones. People don't gather in large groups at the end of the aisle with their phones. They're annoying in their own right but they're easier to get around.

I have no idea what you're talking about dude. You're basically going on a completely different rant that you think is related because it has the word bus in it.

You're going on about driving as if having public transit means people can no longer drive.
You're going on about environmental impact as if a) that has anything to do with why so many unsuitable drivers still get their license and, perhaps more importantly, b) gestures broadly at the decades upon decades of real evidence the the US government does not give a passing shred of a fuck about environmental impact and that has never, ever been a blocker.

The rest of us are just talking about the fact the US allows a lot of shitty drivers on the road because there's no viable alternative.

Sara, I'm pregnant because "I was desperate for a hair tie and my nuvaring was there," Bareilles.

What if I bought them at the market attached to a Shell gas station?!

Girls5Eva was perfect and so underrated. To be a fly on the wall, pitching to Renée Elise Goldsberry fresh off Hamilton. "Okay, so you're a failed pop star turned failed influencer, and there's a clear piano."

This is the result of our society being so dependent on cars and deciding to not invest in robust public transportation

Oh my stars and garters, someone on reddit who actually fucking gets it.

This conversation, and the closely related "why do we let old people drive" one, always gets silly because no one acknowledges the reality that not driving = not leaving their neighborhood for many, many people.

You build your infrastructure around cars? You* reap what you sow. No politician is ever going to challenge how we hand our driver's licenses because there's no affordable, accessible, viable alternative. Grandpa isn't going to get a bike to pedal through a town without bike lanes because he's too old to drive. Grandma isn't walking a mile to the bus and then transferring to a second one to get her groceries. It costs 3x easily to take an Uber than it does to drive even factoring in the cost of owning a car, insurance, etc. Most of the people with issues keeping them from driving are not high earners.

I want a lot of drivers off the road, too, but I live in reality so I know they're not going anywhere without some massive changes in the states.

Gee, how astute

No pain no gain

Right? Even "bad" tequitos still slap.

There are also plenty of dumb people with nice things and mountains of debt.

Chili puritans are boring. There are so many good varieties!

Unless you're with a musician who syncs to the beat instinctively and at disadvantagious times...

Most likely? Severance agreements are 95% boiler plate and they give out the same basic agreement to everyone, be it a secretary or an EVP.

Social media hygiene is becoming more common. Doesn't mean it's actually enforceable but they put it in there.

Ladies voice.

She also leans into the horn when the white car cleared that merge just fine. It was an ego response to start with. The white car just happens to be even more fragile.

Beyond the Dark Tower part already mentioned- it's Flanagan. This is what he does. Takes heavy influence from source material and turns it into something new. He's brilliant at it.

My dog was born in the spring in the PNW. I tried to put a rain coat on her once and she looked at me like "I'm literally wearing a coat 24/7 you bipedal idiot. Now, make with the walkies."

Not to mention, C-suites idea of what productivity looks like with AI is generally very different from the actual output.

I have this conversation with my boss a truly maddening amount. "How is your team using AI to automate their work???" They're not, because we have no tools or budget to invest. "Well what are you building to use AI to automate their tasks???" We aren't. We work in compliance. We don't code. "You need to start using AI!" Okay, where's my budget for software? To hire a dev? Is the completely closed platform product we work in introducing any sort of API we can connect to? No on all fronts? Got it chief. Looking forward to having this same conversation in two weeks.

Did you read the post?

I have smaller fingers. My husband is part bear or something based on the size and shape of his hands. Our "pinch" is going to be different. OP is struggling with that fact, and 1/8th a teaspoon is a fixed measurement that won't change. It's also, roughly, a pinch.
