What about Chohar?  No undead creation anathema and your character could be making these thrall criminals "work off" their crimes in undeath as a means of bringing them to justice.  They won't allow criminals to escape atonement even by death.

There are lots of diferrent ways. I built a Automaton Thaumaturge with Book and Weapon (whip). His "book" was literally his hard drive recording his experiences, and his weapon was cord that extended from one of his wrists. No mechanical changes, just leaning into him being a machine thematically.

Remove as much ocean oil as you can too. 45 pollution a pop makes it go down remarkably faster. I've been where you are not too long ago, and it sucks for a bit, but the benefits are very nice. You're not gonna want to stop at 75k, but get yourself below zero. That 10% income boost is notieable immediately.

I know they're so cheap they're practically free at this stage, but upgrade any lesser tier trees. I also uprooted every single farm (got all my food from fishing) and replaced the space with trees. Expand too. You'll find lots more gold mines and settlements to increase income, but just expanding and planting all the trees you can and repeating a big part of how I got from around 80k to under zero. It is admittedly very slow progress.

Also, when you've gotten "caught up" on anti-pollution, meaning any square that can be is forest (if not being used for mines, windmills, roads, etc) and all the oceans you've cleared have been swept, keeping up with it becomes quite easy. It just takes a bit of grinding to get there. Also, those ocean sweeps will be a big benefit soon enough.

As a contender, his age is far less of a concern than his injury history. I don't mind buying 2-3 years of high end production for a late 1st + something minor.

SnooPickles5984

I know this will sound silly, it did to me when I was level 57, but if you think you have tons of trees, you don't. You never have enough trees. Just expanding more and planting more of the highest value trees you can is a great way to improve income and lower pollution.

Sweeping the ocean works too, but another big source is to remove all oil in oceans.

Interesting insight. As a contender who has no QB3 with Hurts on IR, I was considering sending a similar offer to the team with Nix whose record is likely gonna force them to pivot to a rebuild. I'm curious if the offer were a 3rd with Hurts or something similar, would that change things or is it just the legit unknowns about Hurts future that make it a deal you seem likely to decline?

I literally just started upgrading chip factories to heavy factories with the plan to clear and sweep more water to stay below zero pollution and bump my chip storage considerably yesterday. Now, I'm scrambling to come up with 20k-ish reduction in pollution to avoid rolling back those upgrades to keep my 10% income bonus. Yay...

Even if Skattebo regains the majority of this backfield snaps, it's hard to imagine the Giants going into 2027 with him as their RB1 with his play this year.

SnooPickles5984

I'm pretty sure that Gase can't make things any better either, and that's the real problem.

SnooPickles5984

The swept ocean upgrade isn't available until level 74, otherwise as someone recently in a similar position to OP I can vouch this being an almost complete list of what I did and wow it made an improvement.

Lots of others have gotten into the very specific details of how this kind of damage build should work. I'll just add this generic guidance. Kineticists are good at damage, but they're not specialized in single target damage. A Fighter, Barbarian, Rogue, they're designed for big single target numbers that delete an enemy. Kineticist, even fire ones, don't work like that. That their core, Kineticists damage output is designed around being able to do an AoE Reflex/Fort save and a MAP-less attack in a single turn (with extra benefits). You get a lot of damage output, but spread out, but unlike with spell casters, you don't use limited resources to generate this damage output so it's consistent. If the player just wants big numbers, other classes will give them that feeling of high damage moreso, but if they want to be a Fire Elementalist who deals high damage overall, this is the class for that.

A big trap is overusing the Elemental blast. Early on it's great, but especially at level 4 when martials have striking runes and you're a level away from an extra dmg die, its a time when your elemental blast is quite weak.

Flying Flame let's you hit multiple targets with a 2d6 Reflex save, Blazing Wave is 4d6 Reflex save with a chance to knock targets prone, and those numbers are without the Fire Impulse which would bump each to d8s. Either of those impulses + 1 action Fire blast (either on its own, or via Channel Elements if using an Overflow impulse like Blazing Wave) should often make for a fine damaging turn.

Also, Weapon Infusion is a must if your player wants to regularly use Elemental Blast. Especially for fire, it gives dmg type changing options for when Fire isn't the best type, but having Reach for melee, or 120ft range when needed is just fantastic for your ability to spend actions attacking instead of positioning.

On top of the generic mono-Fire advice, if your player likes mixing it up in melee more (makes building around CON then STR easier), a Fire/Earth build is fantastic. It won't come fully online until level 5 because you'd go dual Element, but Lava Leap is the key feat. Lava Leap gives you effectively a Raise Shield, 30ft Leap, and an AoE attack with multiple dmg types for 2 actions. That's 4-5 actions worth of stuff, and then you Channel Elements and tack on a MAP-less attack. Earth gives you effectively full plate for defense with an impulse you can just constantly reapply during exploration, and unlocks Tremor for a Fort save attack (sometimes you sacrifice the bonuses to fire damage to target an enemies weakness). Lava Leap synergizes well with Thermal Nimbus and the Fire Aura junction helping you leap into the middle of the enemy ranks and just start dishing out damage to all around you. But as I said, it won't come online until you get that junction at level 5, either the Fire aura or damge die upgrade.

This is exactly the kind of stuff that is why many leagues use Max PF. That said, he's playing within the confines of the current rules and his goal is very clearly to improve his team, which clears any bar I'd have for making a good faith effort to "compete". You gotta just give him props for gaming the system and if you think this is bad for your league (for the record I would), then propose and vote on and implement rules changes in the future.

Last week I got Stafford for my expected late 2nd and 3rd in 27, and that was the sellers asking price, so in most situations I imagine your offer is easily accepted.

SnooPickles5984

He's not about to let Brock Bowers be the only TE who is also his team's WR1.

SnooPickles5984

Hurts on a contender, I've had Payton stashed on the taxi in case things went south all year.

SnooPickles5984

WR1 in our hearts, TE1 on in our programs.

SnooPickles5984

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. I dont see how any team could imagine Gase as OC is going to fix anything unless they intend to tank.

SnooPickles5984

I feel you. I felt fine with Gibbs and Chase Brown because I had Monty and Breece for that week, Jonathan Brooks for emergencies too... Yeah, so Emanuel Wilson and Kenny Gainwell might be my guys this week. Oh boy!

SnooPickles5984

a pick for a guy you got for free or FAAB whose value is so short term it won't hurt you, and getting rid of his points helps you with your goal this year? Yeah, that's a win.

SnooPickles5984

Regardless of where people land on vetoes, the screen shot states "7 votes needed to veto" and only 5 votes were counted. That means the veto went against the public rules for vetoing a trade, which means you have a commish who doesn't abide by the league rules. More than just that 1 team should leave.

SnooPickles5984

Bowers doesn't count has he is LV's WR1 ;)

SnooPickles5984

Ward, Levis, Willis, Mariota, Locker, Young. The Titans have botched drafting a QB for 20 years straight. Odds are its a them problem, not every single one of their drafted QBs is terrible.

SnooPickles5984

It's now or never for Lan Larison.

SnooPickles5984

I mean, it's fair to argue at this point that Bowers and Mayer are their WR1 and WR2, they both just happen to be TEs.

SnooPickles5984

If they go 2-15, you fire the coaching staff, draft Jeremiah Smith and don't create a QB problem for yourselves while taking the best overall player in the draft.
