Sustainability is important, but it cannot be at the expense of economic downturn
"It's ok if the planet's burning as long as number goes up"

If airports in other countries don't have the capacity and also decide not to expand, leading more people to take trains, then that's a success

So we should just accelerate the end and let the rich eke out an existence?

"By 2050, peak electricity demand from data centres alone could reach 9–11 GW, equivalent to roughly a quarter of London’s total projected grid requirement and enough to power several million UK homes"

That might be true for training infrastructure but they're still building loads of inference data centres for lower latency

Hope they've sorted the sound out since I was last there, Interpol particularly suffered in 2019 from being far too quiet. There's a lot on this lineup that need to be loud!

people suffering from [...] pollution
I've got bad news for you about what happens when the infrastructure in question is more planes
SnowLeppard
don't worry that the house you raised your family in is being bulldozed, someone's done a "project" and decided your community is insignificant!
SnowLeppard
This seems to have worked! Thank you so much

The Barbican balconies (in the terrace blocks at least) are all connected as fire escapes, so you can't obstruct them

Pretty sure it's ChatGPT too, so much it's not X, it's Y and nonsense like "So here is the offer, with no gloves on."

He's almost as bad as Thiel, see the fascist manifesto he posted on twitter the other day

She released Galore in 2020, but that's apparently a mixtape? Not that I'm sure what the difference is these days

I was one row from the back and it was fine, a little hard to distinguish the band members but a great view of the screens and overall staging
I'm not sure why they're saying that on the tour when their own website describes it as "an icon of brutalist architecture". An architectural movement is defined by more than just one material. RIBA's brutalist style guide has the Barbican and other buildings with picked concrete in its examples. It might not use béton brut but it's still widely considered to be brutalist.
