https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medical_debt
Medical debt is an especially notable phenomenon in the United States. According to a 2019 poll from the Pew Research center, American citizens are much more worried about health care issues as a top public matter and concern, especially medical expenses, rather than the economy and terrorism.
A 2007 survey found about 70 million Americans either have difficulty paying for medical treatment or have medical debt. According to research done in 2019, especially adults who are between 18–64 years and those lacking health insurance coverage are familiar with medical financial hardship in the US. It is estimated that up to 200 billion dollars of medical debt is owed in the United States [...]
The threat of unmanageable medical debts is less common for those in Western Europe, Japan and Australia. A 2019 study of health provision carried out for the Los Angeles Times reported in the United Kingdom, Sweden, France, Germany and Japan about 2.8% of citizens struggled with high medical bills compared to about 16.6% of Americans.

I agree with the sentiment, but I don't see how the observation that a junior who has a chatbot in front of them uses the chatbot is damning evidence of anything.

The discussion was about leetcode-style interview problems. My deeper point is that someone would be able to trivially "solve" such an interview question while barely being able to use a computer, much less build a large, robust system.
SoInsightful
It is true. During the short window where "prompt engineering" was a thing, sure, but now you can just literally copy-paste the problem description and the AI will reason itself into an eventual answer.
And I don't doubt that a few so-called engineers will even fail to do that, but it's not a very valuable exercise.

Most certainly. But let's not pretend that this style of writing cadence hasn't been popular on LinkedIn for 4+ years now.

Every single person on my LinkedIn feed.

I was just about to say this. This myth came from a 2014 study where they only tested my brain.

UX designer here. This is some bad advice in the general sense.
"Few options" — Depends. Having a radio group for "Active" / "Do not disturb" / "Automatic" would be an atrocious waste of space.
"On/off" — Depends. If you require the user to actively make an on/off choice, use something analogous to a radio group. For some other 2-option selections, a dropdown is defensible.
"Select many" — Depends. This doesn't scale at all. If you add more options, this will quickly become god-awful. Preferably, use a multi-combobox (search + multi-dropdown combination), but a multi-dropdown is perfectly good.
"Long list" — No. Use a combobox (search + dropdown combination).

I’m being asked to communicate how a “drop everything” ask will impact my team. How should I play this?
Everything the team is working on will be delivered 2 weeks later than currently planned. I'm not sure why they need to be told that or why that's so difficult for you to tell them.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay_male_speech
It is something that is both stereotyped and a well-researched phenomenon that exists in "significantly higher prevalence" in gay men. Similarly to countless other sociolects, it is a type of speech that some people adopt, either consciously or unconsciously. Is it bigotry now to recognize that the concept exists?
