I feel like this argument could also easily be made for the emotional beats they kept pushing with crazy nikki. She does some fucked shit, apologises and cries, makes weird faces then bear forgives and then the cycle repeats. I get exactly what they were going for but it overstayed its welcome imo and inbetween these cycles nothing was developing aside from the best part of the entire story imo (real nikki breaking through and showcasing her experience through this ordeal). I was fully convinced they were going to go in that direction, showcasing more of nikki breaking through and communicating with Bear but like other people are saying, it didn't develop anymore and felt flat.
