I can't help but wonder how historic last year's defense would have been with an offense that didn't keep stalling all the god damn time. The defense had to do so much work to keep the team even competitive in games. With a bit of rest.. those guys might have set record after record. Last year is definitely one of the biggest "what if?" seasons in recent history in the league.

The Chargers are somehow roughly as dysfunctional or maybe even more dysfunctional than the Titans, and Jim isn't as good of a coach as John these days. Herbert might honestly be totally ruined as a QB at this point. He'll need a change of scenery to even have a hope of returning to form.

And also doesn't move up a spot or two to get a guy that would be very beneficial to the team and lets a really good team move up and steal that talent from under him.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that they're more likely to pull the rip cord now if they're not convinced DeMeco is the guy. They don't like buying out contracts like this. I have no love for billionaires, but I understand how they operate on this front at least.

It seems like he's completely delegated the offensive side of the ball to Caserio. I don't think he can pull in competent offensive staff or he would have already.

The problem with this is they might end up clearing out a lot of the coaching staff at the end of this year. If next year sucks and DeMeco gets fired, that's back to back years of buying out a lot of contracts.

And a much worse division.

I would assume this is predicated on having a new coaching staff.

Sabotaged is the wrong word, but he should not have been given the go ahead to make that trade.

And keep in mind that the only reason these coaches even sniffed the playoffs is because the AFC South is shit mountain. None of these coaches would have done shit in the AFC or NFC North.

Yeah, it needs to be torn down to the studs.

They'd be lucky to win 7.

They might need to offload a lot of these guys.. They look like ass. Get the picks, eat the cap, start over.

Every QB has bad games. Defense being no shows for most of the game against what was one of the worst NFL QBs is unacceptable.

It's time to clean house. That's all there really is to say about this game.
