What does everyone do for fun and leisure during the off season? (self.GunnisonBeach) [nsfw]

Just saw it today. Amazing film although I had absolutely zero context to the subject matter and it was my first exposure. Gonna go listen to the old BtB episodes on Elizabeth Holmes tonight

I don't think you should invite her only because of it being an outing revolving around drinking and she doesn't drink. Trying to mix teetotalers and drinking friends never ever works out and it's always incredibly awkward for everyone involved.
SpaghettiRambo
Could you give more info on quakers? I don't know anything about that
SpaghettiRambo
I had expressed frustration trying to make friends at local meets or even finding local meets (there's lots of outdated stuff online that are webpages for old groups that met regularly and either fell off or stopped meeting) and I guess he tried finding something local for me and suggested the German Unitarian church because Unitarian stuff had a lot of benefits for him

Others have made really good points but I would like to add that the old Internet's userbase was mostly "Jackasses Trying To Be Funny". Yeah, you got a lot of rampant bigotry because of that, but what was kinda nice at the time was that overall the Internet was taken a lot less seriously. I really miss when "don't feed the trolls" was a more common attitude. When you went online back in the day, you assumed everyone was full of shit unless explicitly proven otherwise. Nowadays it's the reverse: people treat all discussions as 100% serious and extend way too much good faith to the average person online. I liked it better when everyone online was less trusting and a little more guarded and willing to dunk on people taking something too seriously or trying to do a grift.

Jason seemed oddly paranoid about his words being taken out of context and threatening that he's willing to go to court over it. I don't think he's wrong for doing so, but I wonder if he or someone he knew actually did have to pursue litigation related to that. Last time I remember him being on the show was the MKUltra episodes.

The Avengers stream. It's hilarious how this big RP lobby plays out almost like an actual GTA story mode. A furious drug dealer threatening to kill a friend because he was blown off for too long, causing the MC to recruit a bunch of other characters for a smaller heist while in the middle of planning a bigger heist in dumbass disguise s is some shit Trevor would do. It was also how I learned that NoPixel has Dunegon Masters that can out together this kind of thing for players to keep it fresh and exciting.

I don't think so. If anything you might get a little more out of it since Cheltie sonetimes edits in background music and other streamer's POVS
SpaghettiRambo
I watched the 2ndJerma highlights until Donnie's first bum fight and getting the Diamond card, then I switched over to Cheltie's highlights. Last thing I watched there was Donnie's second bum fight and losing that. To my knowledge, I'm caught up on everything except some Gill stuff.

Is it free or sub only?

Sometimes I kinda wish the sort aisle or the pickoffs could be disciplined for the sheer amount of irregs and mispicks that get sent down but ultimately I agree it's too much of a slippery slope
SpaghettiRambo
I think it's very sad and unfortunate but more broadly I don't know what else to say that hasn't already been said ad nauseum for the past three to four years of cascading game industry studios and lay offs. I largely feel very helpless and powerless because the forces at play are much larger than anything I could have any kind of influence. I stick to Nintendo, my backlog, and new indies that interest me and I never feel any short of video games to enjoy. I feel very similarly about AI. It's the same shitty stories every day so I just try to ignore it and focus on the things that do interest me.

Huh I thought Andre was Pro-Israel but apparently he flipped on that after enough backlash. I've never heard of Andrew Shultz before
SpaghettiRambo
It's very stupid but still very fun and entertaining. It's like a fun B-movie
Yes plenty of cool fights even though it's frustrating other fights happen completely off screen
Oddly, yes. Ken is a wangsty celebrity rich kid who just misses hanging out with his best bro. They lean very heavily into Ryu's struggle with the Satsui No Hado the whole movie; he's borderline emo and I don't really know what else you could do with his character besides have him be a boring straight man. Dan Hibiki has been retro-fitted to be Ken's buddy producer, while still being pretty wimpy and dorky. Eric Andre's politics suck but he's just there being Eric Andre and an entertaining host for the tournament. The only character that really sucks is Bison, because he's not so much imposing and intimidating but just weird, gross, and creepy.
Maybe. If your friends are also FGC oldheads they'll appreciate all the easter eggs and deep cuts in the film.

That Wrath Southern Hospitality probably goes a really long way in the nihlistic depths of Hell's society
SpaghettiRambo
Keep it installed and boot it up on your birthday. I've made it an annual tradition
SpaghettiRambo
Season 4 definitely needed some levity or at least some comedic relief, I hope they return to some healthy doses of that in Season 5
SpaghettiRambo
I don't disagree but how would Cecil enforce an exile on Nolan? Everything the GDA tried has failed to keep any Viltrumite on lockdown
SpaghettiRambo
I don't think the implication was that Loona was even using hook up apps for hook ups. I thought it was pretty blatant she was just using them to find guys that would buy her free meals.
SpaghettiRambo
Interesting. I thought the fad died off completely
Underrated part of the film is the interview with Billy outside where Nathan keeps prodding him on why and how he fell in love with Elizabeth and he doesn't offer anything more than "idk it was just love at first sight"
