I love the, it's okay were telling a different story now! Retcon's make the game feel less real and when the dice have made a decision, you have to honour it! (Even if it completely derails your plan as a DM, which deserves a gg on taking it in your stride!)

In the specific context of the campaign, I dont think this scenario was a winner without the 20, the DM made it pretty clear to me on the way home, he thought we were going to both die in that ruined house because I dragged him around a corner and basically fell through the first door I could find dragging him, nothing subtle about it, definitely wasnt a low DC check

I can confirm, the table absolutely erupted with joy! Especially the Barb who had already made a joke about getting his next sheet ready!

The last roll of a campaign being a double Nat 20 might be the most appropriate ending I've heard though

For sure! It is so fun to play in a gritty campaign with real stakes! It is a shame when you always seem to just escape or everything still works out fine, but in these scenarios it's truly a memorable experience!

I too sir, tip my hat to you! Your sacrifice will not be forgotten! I think the self sacrifice players do get some of truly memorable moments at the table

On stream Peanut was directly messaging a dev to get someone in quicker ... admittedly everyone is now having issues, but it leaves a sour taste when you've paid and queued for 2 hours.

I think it is just a launch issue, it's frustrating but the game itself is still good a good game.

Wouldnt hurt so bad if they werent giving preferential treatment to streamers.

At least you got to buy a hammer! I have spent 2 hours in queues and trying to join servers only to be met with 'nah' - While streamers are in no problems
