[OC] Data sources and tools:
Data: audio files of Two Friends Big Bootie Mix Vol. 11 and Vol. 27 (personal MP3s)
Tools:
- Python
- librosa — energy curve (RMS), onset detection, key/chroma analysis, tempo tracking
- OpenAI Whisper (local, open source) — lyric transcription for song identification
- Pillow — chart rendering
- Scripts open source at github.com/whySKIPdodis/bbm-audio-analysis
Metrics shown: normalized RMS energy (0–100 scale relative to each mix's own peak), smoothed BPM via rolling median on 60-second overlapping windows, onset density per 10-second window.

Many thanks!! Appreciate the thoughts.

I plan to change the fluid this weekend, and I will likely change the solenoid while I am there (I ordered the one in the link above, and will hope its right). I'll research the friction modifier...in your reply below...did you add anything to your's or just LV fluid?
Also, where do you go get it tested?

This code checks if the inclination value (which represents the slope/grade% in Zwift) is greater than or equal to 0 (meaning it's flat or going uphill), and also whether the sum of grade and gears is less than 0 (meaning the gears are set in a way that would result in a downward slope).
Here’s the logic explained:
inclination >= 0checks that the route is flat or uphill.inclination + gears < 0checks if the sum of the inclination and the gear settings results in a downhill slope (a negative value).- If both conditions are true, it prints a debug message and then returns 0, which likely represents no adjustment (or setting the adjustment to 0).
In simpler terms, if the route is flat or uphill and the combined effect of the incline and gears would create a downward slope, the code "flattens" or "sets it to 0" to prevent a negative result.
This is how I understand the code: u/cagnulein

I assume this is how it works now. I added an edit to my original post. So yes I would like this.

Just to be clear, when Zwift sends a negative slope (say, -3%); I can confirm that the Tacx downhill effect still activates...so the trainer is still reading some negative slope number.
I was under the impression from your comment here, that it followed this logic:
Real slope: 2.0%, Virtual gear offset: -1.0%, Final slope: 1.0%
Real slope: -4.0%, Virtual gear offset: +2.0%, Final slope: -2.0% (Virtual gears increase resistance but do not make the slope more negative).
Real slope: 0.0%, Virtual gear offset: -3.0%, Final slope: 0.0%
Real slope: +3.0%, Virtual gear offset: +4.0%, Final slope: +7.0%
Found in this explanation - thanks u/SnooGiraffes6688!
In short, the updated patch, with both the new settings ('Get Gears from Zwift" -- under Zwift Options) and ("Disable Negative Inclination due to gear" -- under Bike Options/Tacx Neo Options) -- will only allow negative slopes from Zwift to INCREASE but not decrease. (i.e. go from -4 to -2, but not down to -5)
I think that is how it is behaving, so this is just me confirming.

I am on build 1067. Settings are still pretty similar to a 'normal' setup. I have 'Get Gears from Zwift' toggled on (and that toggles off the Zwift Click and Zwift Play settings so it doesn't conflict. In bike options I have all default, but I changed Zwift Resistance Offset to 0 (default was 4 I think) because it feels better (I have been using this Neo with regular gears for a few years so I know what it feels like)...Gears gain is also default at 1 (though I have tested some that are <1....but 1 is easier).

ELI5 - they were designed that way.

Our IT guy has said that MS changed some things and he is limited in what "dials he can adjust" under the hood so to speak. But I'll relay these thoughts to him. If you have time could you give me the tl;dr on them tho?
Speaker4theRest
It's an odd problem. You don't know you have it. Since from the senders side it all appears fine. Call CU support and let them know. We've given them details. But more folks that let them know the better.

Almost all of them.

So....random thought...he seems to be categorically confusing the role of the physical sciences with the role of the metaphysical sciences....this is not to discredit either or to inflate one to a higher importance than the other...they are simply different...physical science can tell you all the ingredients of a cake...but not why the cake was made...I find this confusion of roles often with both hard sciences folks, and overly philosophical folks. I do not know if that helps, but for me it has helped me to understand the ROLEs of the things and ways we study.

Car fax. Assuming it was entered. Asking them and praying otherwise.
That said. Once you buy it. I suggest having all fluids changed. Even if they have done it.

Not as designed, different cars do I different ways, in the early Honda days, they made it so that 3 of the 6 cylinders do not fire, thus using less gas, this better MPG...but in practice in these early models it has some unintended consequences...I assume they are unintended. IMHO, I think its mostly a marketing thing, they can added 1-2 MPG to their sticker so they look better than others...not real massive benefit. I do not know how the 2018's do it....but its 13 years newer than mine, maybe more sophisticated way for you. Also, the ECO mode I am talking about turns on and off by itself, there isn't an ECO mode vs SPORT mode button like you may have.

1) in the list of workouts. 2) via the companion app on your phone. 3) menu -> garage -> kits 4) I think you mean "drafting" that's when you're being another rider and they're stopping the wind making it easier for you to go the same speed while doing less effort. Obvi this is an IRL concept that is replicated in Zwift.

I would trust the real life FTP bumps. The ramp tests get you close. But their just not as good as either a full test. Or getting a bump cause you raced harder. I say keep it at what it bumps you to. And don't lower it unless you find you can't complete the workouts at the given level.
Also. To your last point. Get some leg workouts in with weights. That'll help you push the pedals longer.

I did this too. Helped.
To each their own, if you aren't a fan of EDM, then you likley wont like it...but, no judgement.
