We are going on a cruise when my babe will be almost 9 months old and will have three stops on our cruise in Mexico and Honduras. I saw on the CDC website that an extra/early dose of the MMR is recommended for international travel. Although we are planning on following the regular CDC schedule, I'm pretty hesitant to give him an extra dose. Especially because it seems like 3 short days in touristy areas would be less risky than, say, 1-2 weeks in a less developed area. Do you have any thoughts on whether this extra dose is really necessary?
When I asked his pediatrician about it, she said she wasn't super worried since I'm breastfeeding.
