Very few NSFW photos on this sub are great like this, in my humble opinion.

Everything can be ableist, given the right arguments.

The fact that Reddit uses the term "Ableist" right and left for everything they disagree with is very dangerous. That's how movements and words stop being effective and taken seriously.

No one is telling everyone to be vegan. That's the common thing everyone say against vegans, like "omg what about cultures, what about people with disabilities, what about lions in the desert". Either people are really just being blatantly unfair, or people don't understand how conversations work.

If I say "peanuts are healthy, so people should consume them" am I being ableist because some people are allergic to peanuts? No, because that would obviously be not my suggestion for someone with that condition. Now, if you're on reddit talking to someone that really hates whatever you are, they're gonna say you are ableist.

I mean, the conversation on the pic went from "Plastic is bad for the ocean" to "veganism is ableist because some people with disabilities need plastic straws or they will die"... Doesn't feel like a valid chain of arguments and conclusion.

People having their applications denied be like:

  • Chinese people
  • Fucking bat-eaters
  • Chinese government trying to sabotage the global economy
