I don't see how there is divine deception involved in that conclusion, since there wasn't a loud booming Godly voice saying "this is the real sun that is moving!".

Deception doesn't require words. Trickery is deception.

The accounts stating that the sun moved are unproblematically understood as a reflection of their lack of omniscience, something that really looked like the sun yet was not the sun did x, y, and z.

So the miracle of the sun doesn't involve the sun but some mysterious dancing light in the sky? A light that God made knowing people would still to this day claim was the actual sun?

I gave a specific example of when it would matter. You can disagree with it, you can call it a bad argument, but to say I didn't offer one at all is completely disingenuous.

You're making a lot of unsupported assumptions about a god beyond mere existence.

• They care about you.
• They know what you did.
• They will judge you.
• They will treat you fairly.

You really don't know any of that. What if there's a god and he's evil (by our standards at least) and he punishes you unless you do something really specific. Let's say you have to avoid eating fish on the day you die. If you avoid it, he lets you stop existing when you die. If you don't, you end up in eternal conscious torment. Even if it's completely unfair, it really would matter if there was a religion that told us what that really simple thing is so we can do it to avoid the bad consequence.
