But have you seen how big China and the US are? No way a decentralized infrastructure can be in any form harmfully attacke d at that scale.  There's many many servers all over the place and they don't exactly advertise that they are targets. Chip manufacturers maybe, but that's a different topic and both parties currently rely a lot on the same sources so that would be shooting themselves in the foot. 

Talking about geopolitics, the current US is no match for China in my view. Trump has sabotaged his country very effectively, wasting resources, stopping progress.  They don't have many friends left and have been shooting their allies in the back left and right. China has been quietly watching/encouraging the deconstruction.  That won't be healed in the next few years no matter what administration comes next.

"whoever wins AI wins"  That means ceding control, not a lack of possibility to coexist in a possibly different power balance. War  is not mentioned.

Clearly attacking the other side won't dent their ability to run models, they are very decentralized. 

The different models easily can coexist just as they have been doing the last 10 years. There simply is  no way this market is winner takes all.
