The word libertarian, for a ton of self-described right-leaning libertarians, becomes one of many things they call themselves to sound better to moderates or independents. It becomes more of a marketing term than an actual political position.

They appear more moderate to normies under this guise. Most right-leaning libertarians are just far-right conservatives. Left-leaning libertarians tend to be more authentic and nuanced.
