As the other person yes it does work but for a quick explanation that you probably already figured out. Death happens instantly In BOTC when a player is stated to die, so when the demon picks a player and there is no protection on that player, then that player is dead for the rest of the night. An example of a situation where this is interaction is important to know is say you have a slayer and a psychopath in the game. Say the psychopath claims and kills the slayer, the slayer is dead and doesn't get a moment to use his ability.

Especially when you factor in that he did all that with a massive suit of armour for a body
