This project started with my own experience as DAMM didn’t work on my model and neither did any other software. So I decided to make one for my model first and during my research I found Clevo/Tuxedo implementations worked which DAMM does not include support for. And that’s why I developed this. The goals are the same on bringing Linux support to Acer laptops.
I am thinking about changing the name to AcerCtl because as you pointed it out Acer already has their software named Acer Control Center. And I am not affiliated to Acer in any way.
StanlyBuildsApps
Not all but the ALG and Aspire 7 series do.
StanlyBuildsApps
Currently no but it’s the next device that I’m planning to implement the support for.
Unfortunately I don’t have that model in hand to test it so any contributions are welcome.

Thank you. If you don’t mind me asking one more question, are keyboard are mouse supported or is it controller only? I saw some posts mentioning it’s controller only.

Please send them to me too.

Can you DM me the links to the files? I cannot find them anywhere..

I always use it while plugged into charger. Never used it without AC power. But I guess it would last like 3 hours maybe on medium to heavy loads.
About heating, it heats while playing AAA games. Like I play Where Winds Meet and it reaches around 60-75. Never saw it go above that temperature on both CPU and GPU. Fans are pretty loud. But all these are expected on a gaming laptop.
Other than that on normal usage I never faced any heating issues. It stays pretty cool.

No I didn’t face any issues. I play games, watch YouTube and Netflix, code on it everyday for almost 8-10 hours. I have never heard of motherboard dead failure on this laptop anywhere.

Playing Where Winds Meet right now. Such a beautiful game.

Tried Proton-GE and it’s still the same unfortunately. I tried the latest version.
Unfortunately I have to use it with FSR always.

From Steam -> Where Winds Meet -> Settings -> Properties -> Launch it with DirectX 12.
Without that DLSS will not appear. Also I didn’t use any launch options at all. It’s empty for me.
Would like to hear if you got it to work this way and if DLSS worked for you or not unlike me.

I tried setting the frame limits to 60, 120 and unrestricted. It was still the same.

No, it’s not VRAM issue. While running the game in towns where there are a lot of elements, the VRAM usage is around 4199-4728MB. It doesn’t even go above 5000. So there’s VRAM available.
Both on FSR and DLSS the VRAM usage is around the 4000MB mark. But there’s a lot of difference in FPS.

Thank you. Will try it and update here.

There's 2 slots for both SSD and RAM. By default it has single channel 16GB stick and the other slot is empty.

Great choice bro. Congratulations 🙌🏼. I got the same laptop back in July.
What CPU variant is yours?
StanlyBuildsApps
It is a Clevo ODM rebranded laptop. The firmware is from Clevo and with a few commands on Linux about the board, Acer didn’t even try to change the manufacturer name.
It says Clevo/Kapok which is Clevo’s name in their local language I think. It’s not an issue but it seems like Acer didn’t try to put any effort into R&D. And the ALG model is specifically released by Acer India and not Acer Global.
Even the Control Center app is straight from Clevo.
The Aspire 7 is also from Clevo.

Use Twintail Launcher. I use it always and works without issues. There are a few other anime styled games in that launcher.

Better go to Acer service center guys.
That’s a good point about project history becoming another thing creators have to maintain. I’m planning integrations with GitHub, GitLab, and other platforms so developers can select a recent commit or release and use it to draft a new update or add to an existing project’s history. The idea is to make documenting progress easier without having to write everything twice.
I also want Chronicle to be accessible to people who aren’t developers. Not everyone knows how to navigate GitHub or wants to dig through repositories just to understand how a project works or follow its progress.
For the first users, I picture both makers and people interested in the projects they build. Ideally, creators have an easier way to share their journey, while followers get a simple place to discover projects and see how they evolve.
