Good question. As much as I really, really enjoyed then last two Byrne productions—American Utopia at Forest Hills in 2018 and Who Is the Sky? at Radio City in 2025—these productions are more of a show than a concert, so there’s little or no spontaneity. Again, wonderful efforts but more lather-rinse-repeat than I like in a musical performance.

So like many here, I’d welcome Talking Heads touring again. Then again, if the band members hold such animosity toward one another, maybe it’s best they don’t reunite.

Steven1789

Certainly. Just suggesting you give them no extra reason to check. Because they could decide to be harsh.

Steven1789

Just make sure you give the TSA no reason to check your bag—a pocket knife, oversize container of liquid, etc.

Steven1789

It is quite a good deal. I’m guessing the company counts on me using them for pricey work such as cleanups, mulching, and other services.

My favorite Kean ad is a radio spot where they mispronounce his name as “Keen.”

Voted yesterday in Morristown. The crowded polling place had a steady flow of people in the early afternoon.

Stop using that plastic measuring cup. Not that modern plastic is without its issues, but you can be sure that an old vessel like that has BPA and likely heavy metals. As plastic ages, it will leach more nasty stuff.

I’d switch to a glass measuring cup. You can find 8-cup versions for $15-$20.

Steven1789

Yes. Morris County.

This! Deadheads use show dates in Month/Day/Year format.

Dave’s Picks 49 is from 4/27/85 and 4/28/85, so guessing OP is referring to #42, which is 2/23/74.

Our landscaper charges us $85 a week to mow about 1.5 acres of grass and the related edging and cleanup (blowers). Takes the crew of three about 45 minutes.

For the major spring and fall cleanup, the company charges $50 an hour per crew member—so $150 an hour.

Voted yesterday, and we’re going to flip Kean’s seat in NJ-7.

I had one of those spindles back in the day.

And although I have a turntable and all my LPs (including every GD studio release, most solo albums, and bootlegs) and 45s going back to the late 1960s, I won’t be buying any new vinyl releases.

High-fidelity streaming is for me a superior way to listen to live music. I’ll save my money for concert tickets.

With so many new fans in this sub, it feels important to get the details right.

So yes, my trip is correct info.

I’m not sure what this post is about, but I really like I’ll Take Melody.

I saw Allen Toussaint perform a nice version of this tune in 2014. He mentioned that Garcia covered his song.

Steven1789

It kind of matters here given how soon after the event the song debuted.

Steven1789

Hunter and Garcia wrote/composed the song in 1969, right after Altamont (12/6/69). The first live version was 12/20/69.

Steven1789

What an inconvenient way to listen to a show.

Steven1789

If “Orel” then it should be “Anel,” no?

Indeed they do, but it’s not worth the risk of a the safety feature malfunctioning.

Steven1789

It’s a safety matter—if you close windows remotely, you could end up closing the window on a passenger’s body part (or a dog sticking its head out the window).

What’s the scenario in which you’d need to open wjndows with the fob and then close them with the fob?

You need to be within 50-60 feet of the car to open the windows with the fob, so if a sudden rainstorm were to occur, you could get to the car within a few seconds to close the window(s).

We live 20 minutes west of Morristown, and when my wife has to go into the city, she often drives to Harrison and parks at the PATH.

I think it takes her about 90 minutes to get to her office, which is about 10 minutes from WTC PATH station.

The PATH allows a lot more flexibility.

Steven1789

Where’s the commute from?

My wife and I did the commute from Millburn in the early 2000s and we had three young kids at the time. We also had a full-time nanny.

It was manageable—60-70 minutes door-to-door each way—but I don’t think the trains had as many issues then.

This!
