Personally, I would nail down what major 7, minor 7, dominant 7, augmented 7 and diminished 7 chords are before trying to figure out extensions like 9s and 11s and 13s

Imo the problem with musical comedy is that the joke isnt the subject matter, the bit is taking the music seriously but also having punchlines. Thats the surprising part, but that only really works once or twice. Once people get the bit, its really hard to keep making it funny because the subject matter was never the joke in the first place. Thats not the case for every musical comedian but it sure is for this one. Anyway

When you slow a hard riff down to practice it, don't just play it slowly, play it at that tempo as if it were the real tempo. Groove to it, get it to the point where its actually fun to play even at a slow tempo. Get to the point where it gets stuck in your head at that tempo, then you'll find it much easier to speed it up

A teacher can catch problems or shortcomings in your playing that you might never consider on your own. Honestly I think the "right" way is to start by teaching yourself and use lessons as a corrective measure.
Even top dudes still take lessons, sometimes you just need a second set of ears to hear your playing from a different perspective to find the shortcomings.

What is there even to complain about in that situation? I don't really get this post, the problem wasn't that you were complaining it was that you thought vocalists were "crashing" the jam by participating in it.
I had to play a reverend guitar this summer and it had a wilkinson tremelo that had spurs. My md sent it back to the toledo shop and got back another wilkinson with spurs. They claimed it was an issue with wilkinson but I figured they could maybe inspect it before sending it out again? Anyway, I have no faith in their QC at least at the toledo factory.
