I think it's funny that they put a creepy looking animatronic driver in the car when it's really not necessary. In fact we can see that the robot doesn't even need to see the road or touch the controls, he's only there for the passengers to look at when they talk to the car.

But then again they also get all of the overhead for maintaining and fueling all those self driving cars and storing them when they aren't in use.

Just make a road and zone layout that keeps your industry traffic as separate as possible and give the industry easy access to highways, train depots, and sea ports.

Provide sensible public transit (don't try to route 20 bus lines down the same corridor).

Make sure you don't have too many intersections right near one another and try to make sure high volume roads have as few intersections as possible.

If you make roundabouts make sure the actual traffic circle is made from either highway or on-ramp prices. One way roads don't really work.

Is it easy enough to enable and disable just for screenshots?
