There are a few benefits over the old version and while the old version could help with money gain, that's still doable in other ways fairly easily.
The new version helps with clearing monster challenges, rapid material gain, adds souls on top of the normal coin gain and, unless RNG was messing with me today, it was updated to activate Special Promise.
It has different functions but I think the new function is ultimately better throughout the game whereas the old version had a specific niche. It did what it did well but basically stopped having any value at all once you bought everything.

Honestly, I've been feeling that way for a while. Each update will add to the game in terms of the quantity of content but it not only ends up feeling like "grind but more and different" but it also makes the grind feel more tedious.
I'm 2 achievements away from finishing the game up to this point and really hope that whatever content they add in the future, it doesn't include more.

The VIP pass can pay for itself and snowball into the prizes that help with progressing faster, including the Daily Spin Pass.
Two important things to note though are:
It's not 1 chip per day, it's 1 extra ship per win. If you get a 5 win streak without it, you gain 15 total chips (1+2+3+4+5) versus 20 with it (2+3+4+5+6). The daily spins have higher odds for black/red as well so it's not difficult to hit streaks like this, even if it is still random
The slot machine isn't great. Only 2, maybe 3 (jewels, divinities and maybe the eyes though my pile of thousands of them says they're not rare enough to care anymore), of the possible wins are worth getting but they're the least likely by a fair amount. You absolutely could hit 500 jewels from your daily but you're far more likely to hit 10 slime or 55 wood.
You're also far more likely to get 75 chips from dailies to buy the daily spin pass, something that's not possible with spins since you can't get chips from the slot machine.

Replacement wise you could try emailing Certifiable to see if they'll send you new ones or jump into the Discord and see if anyone has extras they'd be willing to part with. Otherwise your current proxy idea is probably the best you'll be able to do

There are 3 skill options, Piercing (ignores defense), Parallel (shoots 2 additional arrows forward) and Electric (deals damage to nearby enemies). The skills aren't bow specific but you can only have 1 per bow.

I'm not sure where you are in the game but besides grinding for more UA, my go to is:
Bonus Stage random boxes and the special drink at the village
If you get at least a 26x and equipment percentage boost, pop your daily 26x as well
Equip CPS boosting equipment, CPS temporary items and the coimbo shield on
Hit rage mode repeatedly
It's not the most consistent but it gets good bursts of coins and should get you there given where it looks like you are

I knew I had seen something floating around there. I was only half paying attention but saw something at the top of the screen that wasn't part of the background but missed getting a proper look.

It's unlocked in the Village through a few quests. You'll complete some quests, play a smaller version of the minigame, then can get a quest from Colo to kill 20K Charged Adult Yeti's (unlocked through standard quest progression). After that you'll be able to find it similar to Grapple Run.

All 4 minigames have a chance to get you a different armory item. Daggers come from Doodle Jump Ascending Heights but the chance isn't great (40% max with the Dark Divinity that doubles the height for a higher chance) and shields can drop from Chest Hunt. For Chest Hunts you need an upgrade first, Chest within a Chest (or something like that). To get higher odds, you need the Ring of Luck which can be upgraded to the Ring of Fortune.
You'll be able to craft remaining items once you get weekly quests since they drop a new type of egg which gives a new feather which is used in all but 1 of the crafted armory items (the final one takes keys which you only get from Ultra Ascending).

A 5 option excellent. I'm in awe. You've done it. You've won the game.
StrikeMReddit
That's what the loadout does. Unfortunately, until you unlock that you'll have to do it manually.
StrikeMReddit
Almost certainly Adranos. It's more generally good and gets better in Frozen Fields with all of the electric type enemies.
The Kishar blade is still useful and should be built eventually, both because of the coin bonus helping with getting back the reset coins from ascension and because the loadout system makes the chest hunt option actually useful. It's just not going to progress you nearly as well as the general souls bonus from Adranos

"Bug fixed: Idling"

Electro shot isn't exclusive to green bows. It's 1 of 3 skills you can get on any bow
StrikeMReddit
I know previous bosses guaranteed excellent if you get a good time on them so I assume it's the same with this one (though I don't know what the time needed is). Getting 4 options to roll will still be a rough grind though
StrikeMReddit
I haven't looked it up but I assume it's the same as the other two EX bosses where you get a new ring
StrikeMReddit
Worth a try for sure. It's probably a bit easier than a 2 hour minimum trip for maybe a single promo set. More planning but more time to prep.
StrikeMReddit
OK I think I found at least some. They're generic cards but they come with specific alt arts in their ages I think? According to BGG the Pyromancer was released in the age of Destruction in June with promos for Buh Bye for example in March.
I'm assuming those will come with the Pyromancer through the Vanguard KS as will the ones released with the Barbarian.
StrikeMReddit
It looks like the pyromancer and barbarian come with their cards from the Vanguard Kickstarter. I guess I just have to hope the Paladin and Artificer will do the same in the future and that I can find a closer tournament before Treant is out.
StrikeMReddit
One of the stores near me tried recently but wasn't able to for some reason. They said they couldn't get things in to properly run things. I'm not sure of the exact details but that's what they told me.
StrikeMReddit
I typed in Dice Throne tournament and got this site. I don't know if there's a better site to use to find places that have tournaments but if this is the proper one then the closest one is 2 hours away
StrikeMReddit
How many promo cards are there? One per board or multiple per board?
StrikeMReddit
Gotcha, makes sense
StrikeMReddit
Ah, Ok. I know my LSG was talking about organized play but couldn't get into contact with anyone to get into it from what they told me. They didn't mention the Treant board but I assume that was one of the things they couldn't get.
Is there any way to change the ctrl+click function back to opening a link?
