Wife and I toured Daytona over the summer and the Chevy section had a new ZR1 and a Silverado on a podium at the entrance, as well as another C8 on display in the infield. I asked the tour guide about the ZR1 on display and she told me “I don’t know, Chevy doesn’t pay us to take you through their section”
Meanwhile she took us up into the Toyota section (because Toyota pays them to) and they had all their models on display and a banner promoting/explaining the GR lineup.
Growing up a Chevy fan, I was disappointed to hear that they weren’t investing in the fan experience. That and the whole 6.2 rod failures and 5.3 lifter problems in their new trucks has killed brand loyalty for me

I live north of Pittsburgh, yes it does have just about everything, but cost of living is high. Also we can get some bad rush hour traffic. I would suggest Morgantown WV or Martinsburg WV. I believe West Virginia is offering a tax incentive for newcomers as well

Totally agree, if you want to go fast, you can build a motor with more HP for 9k. If you just want it to drive and go rumpity rump, you can do that for less than the 8k you’re planning to spend. If you want to drive it NOW then the crate engine is probably best

Fix the ranger bro, if the body and frame aren’t scaly rusty it is worth the investment. New cars are not as tough as a ranger, and there’s probably a million of them out there so there’s always parts available for a lot less than new car parts

Yes brother, if your pistons are 3.937, you need some clearance. There’s usually a small circle left uncoated on the skirt that is supposed to be your measuring point. Your necessary clearance can vary by piston manufacturer, usually a speed pro/sealed power/mahle will want about .0035. Double check, but sounds like you’re okay. Get some total seal .020 +.005 rings and file fit them. 🫡

A quart between changes is fine. If you are heavy footed, then expect to be 1.5-2 quarts low. I put like 3 quarts in my wife’s Hyundai between changes, which is excessive, but it’s cheaper than a replacement engine

$2,500 car and do a lap around America? Leave Florida go up 95, across 90, back down 5, back across 10. First back to Bradenton wins. You can only tow to the next exit if you break down.
