Zoals iemand anders al zei: in de VS is de doodstraf duurder dan een levenslange gevangenisstraf. "Het proces anders inrichten" is erg kort door de bocht gesteld. Het nadeel van de doodstraf is namelijk dat ie onomkeerbaar is. Neem de zaak van Lucia de B. Zij was waarschijnlijk ter dood veroordeeld. Als je de doodstraf vervolgens lekker snel uit laat voeren, zonder haar de kans te geven in beroep te gaan is er dus de kans dat je een onschuldig persoon had gedood. Nu zou je kunnen zeggen dat dit een risico is wat me maar bereid moeten zijn om te nemen, maar dat is natuurlijk wel ontzettend glad ijs en ik vraag me af of mensen die dat roepen hetzelfde zeggen als zij of een naaste één van die onschuldigen wordt.

This whole post comes from an American standpoint. Arrowhead is by far the most beautifull American footballstadium imo, and I am not even a Chiefs-fan. However, in my opinion, no American footballstadium, even though they are way bigger, comes close to the atmosphere in European and South American footballstadiums. The only measurement they have are decibells, but atmosphere is so much more than that. Tifo's, terraces, flags, torches, ultras, stands close to the field...

Those are the terraces. They hold the most fanatic supporters, who are basically standing and singing the entire game. You know what you get when buying a ticket in those stands.

The goal does not justify the means. If that were the case, we could just nuke every country that harbors people we don't like, and we don't do that. If we no longer respect laws, than what will we become?
