When there is no controversy, it doesn't trend. It's simple as that. Peaceful stuff never sticks long in the news cycle. However, negative stuff that triggers anger does. It's why all of gaffs and absurdity by Trump always makes the news. The news media industry thrives on endless suffering.

• Trump pocketing money from foreign deals and billionaire investors
• US debt exploded in just a year in his presidency
• health care subsidies got canned
• hospitals closing after lost of Medicare support
• increase of measles because of anti-vaccine rhetoric
• women dying after Roe v. Wade was overturned
• trans rights to just exist are evaporating
• religion being pushed into public schools
• books being destroyed
• POC and women history being erased

I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but there's a LOT going on that they want us to forget and be indifferent about.
