exactly mate - its a dangerous solution that has repuctions agaisn't people who might not have done anything wrong at all.

HWID bans are possible - but you are running the risk of false-positives, and HWID's can be spoofed - if EAC HWID bans were that fool-proof it would be far more widly used.

The other thing that WOW does - is require authentication of the product you have tied to a username/account created on their own servers.

Account found to be using cheats = banned out right, If tehy want to play and cheat again - time to create a new account and buy new copy of the game.

If Helldivers did that - while slightly inconvent - i'd be more supportive of that than some Kernel-level fuckery of some random-ass"Anti-cheat" software

This kinda shit is to be expected and its a tale as old as time when it comes to ANYTHING online.

You got two groups of people who disagree on something and both will try to "Beat" the other.

Arrowhead adds Anti-cheat
Cheaters work around the Anti-Cheat.

Just wait now - because at some point Arrowhead might make the anti-cheat even more strict - which in turn will make the cheaters try to outdo that.
