Regardless, definitely get on discord and start networking if you haven't done it yet. The starform has multiple official discords, one main metalstorm one, one for esports, one for playtesting and then most prominent squads have their own discords too. Check out my pinned post of comprehensive links if you want to find them

It would certainly have its benefits, but it would also bring with it problems. I know most of us grew up in COD lobbies so for the average millennial/Genx gamer it doesn't necessarily seem like a problem. But things are different now. Plus, predators run rampant in video game chats. And Starform isn't exactly a giant company with unlimited resources to handle the potential problems that come with it. I am personally not for it, but if it does ever become a thing, I would just stick with discord. It would be a benefit to solo players, no denying that.

I always tell people to just slow down a little bit and enjoy the game lol. It's not a race to see who gathers all the planes the fastest
Szymetalstorm
Gripen first for sure. Su34 is a fun one but it's slow. I don't like the super hornet. I do like its passive. But that's it
Szymetalstorm
Maybe. But I wouldn't put this one at the very top of the evidence pile either just because it was a single point loss and its also very possible that you had the lead at first and your human opponents got nervous and started going after the bots instead of you. Not trying to say the bots aren't a problem, but the latter also happens. Full disclosure though, I didn't watch the match so I don't know. I just feel like it's worth mentioning that if you overwhelm your opponents, they'll sometimes go for what they feel is the path of least resistance and just go after the bots and run away from you.
Szymetalstorm
All the flankers lol... Also, when you get to hangar 20, the su57 and f22 are very similar. Keep one low and one high. I kept the f22 high
Szymetalstorm
I mean, it seems simple enough. You would think that would be a thing but I have a feeling it's not a thing since we keep seeing it every now and then
Szymetalstorm
They don't allow it but sometimes you have to open a support ticket to fast track that stuff. I've said this before but in game reports are highly abused, so they get inundated and many reports unfortunately just don't get the proper attention. They go through each support ticket individually though, they're not abused nearly as much because nobody wants to go through the extra work of creating a ticket for a BS report.
Szymetalstorm
100% agree with you
Szymetalstorm
If it advertised an upgrade to level 8, and you bought and didn't get that, definitely get on the website and create a support ticket. I don't know if the rules have changed or not, I dont personally get those offers since I have a total of 3 planes lower than 8 and they're all flankers.
Szymetalstorm
Wow. That is one of the coolest accidents I have ever seen in this game. Dead serious.
Szymetalstorm
Pretty sure it means last 20 matches with that plane yeah
Szymetalstorm
Well I guess this is important to know, mobile or PC? And how do you play? Glass? Controller? M&k?
Szymetalstorm
I mean you can fly upside down yeah, it will always try to correct you right side up though. So you will be struggling with it
Szymetalstorm
OK uhm, are we talking about actual settings? Or are we talking about mapping? Or advanced upgrades?
Szymetalstorm
OK uhm, are we talking about actual settings? Or are we talking about mapping? Or advanced upgrades?
Szymetalstorm
Yeah camera lock is great. It's whatever works best for you personally. I can tell you how I do it but at the end of the day it's whatever you do best with
Szymetalstorm
Fair enough. I can't do glass anymore. But I can do mobile with a controller still. Sometimes I just wanna lay in bed and play a few. That's convenience in my mind lol
Szymetalstorm
Yeah there's this, I just typed a big long thing and didn't mention this part. This applies to everything that isn't glass. Including mobile controller
Szymetalstorm
It's not so much maneuvers as much as it is things like camera motion, smoother framerate, lots of ways to customize, larger screen so you can see better, you can use a thrust master or controller or mouse and keyboard. Some people will also make the argument that people use pc for "macros" which I'll be honest, I'm not even entirely sure what they're referring to when they say that. And if it's the type of macro I'm thinking of, I don't see how it would benefit anybody but maybe I misunderstand. But I digress. I think the single biggest advantage is being able to use a mouse and keyboard, and that gives you the ability to use a sort of enhanced version of the look ahead feature, which you also get with controller, but to a much lesser extent. With m&k, the camera pans ahead of the direction you're turning, and you have a slider in advanced settings to control the amount. That is, in my opinion, the biggest advantage mouse and keyboard players have over everybody else. When you're able to just flick your mouse and look ahead of where you're going, you can see everything faster, and you can make better decisions and do so more quickly.
You can do the same thing with a controller, or even on glass, but you have to do it manually by manipulating free look. I use controller, and my right stick is free look. And that's how I do it. But that takes more focus and more resources (my thumb being on the stick instead of at ABXY) so while it works, it does put me at a disadvantage. So these are just all things to consider.
As far as making your plane do extra things on pc that you can't do on mobile, I guess you could count roll. Or yaw if you want to do advanced turning. You can map buttons to roll right/left. And it literally just makes your plane barrel roll. And that can be helpful at times. But other than that, I can't think of anything else. The aircraft still has the same stats on either platform. It's actually widely agreed upon that the aim assist is better on mobile than on pc. So, there are tradeoffs.
Szymetalstorm
Yeah I totally get it and I'm glad you are saying something about it! I'm kind of in a similar position myself, been playing a little over 2 years and i always buy the flight pass and I've spent some on paints and stuff. It would at least be nice to know why they're making some of these decisions at the very least.

So, they made announcement about the threshold changes the other day. They stated it was just a test and they said that it was only going to last a couple days. I'm not saying I agree with what they did either - I fail to see the point in it myself. And I think the thresholds were insane. It didn't affect me personally but judging by the rest of you guys, they were insane changes.
I don't blame anybody for being upset about it, and I wouldn't stop you from voicing your opinion or trying to organize a protest. I live in the US, and this is exactly what we do when we want change. I'm simply saying that hey, this wasn't meant to be permanent.
Also, I hesitate to even say this because I don't generally like to do the devil's advocate thing. And this is only my opinion. But I don't think that starform is sitting on a huge pile of money. Take that as you will. That would obviously mean that spending less would probably be more effective. But they are a small team that created a free to play game without running ads or creating some sort of pay-to-win format... And when I say pay-to-win, I'm talking about the type of pay to win you see in games that start with war and end with thunder. I am making an educated guess that they have to make financial sacrifices by not running ads. Financial sacrifices that unfortunately hurt the game and hurt progress. What I mean to say is that its a double edged sword is all. I don't mean to discourage you from protesting. You should always do that if you want to make change, and I am glad to see that you're willing to take action for what you believe is right.

This was in the announcement post the devs made yesterday. She posted here on reddit and on discord. She kinda just put it in the middle of the long announcement, so you had to read through it to find it. Which, you should be reading those by the way, they give out a lot of important info about what is happening with the game. Like the 4v4 stuff and the sudden change of plane trophy thresholds for instance, were announced. Which I didn't know anything about myself until I read through it. But apparently those were supposed to just be tests and they were temporary. That doesn't mean I think it was a good idea to do, but at least it explained why they did it and explained that it's not permanent.
I had a feeling my post wasn't going to be popular. But I just want to point out that at no point did I disagree that the bots are a problem. There are clearly issues, I have said it multiple times. But I'm also saying that there are other factors at play sometimes and we have to acknowledge that they also exist. If you want to get to the bottom of something, you need to look at the full picture and you need to make sure you are accurately diagnosing the problem. I simply said that it's possible your human opponents were targeting your bots, which could also be a contributing factor. It also may not have been a factor at all. But I can tell you, for a fact, that players do that. They do it often. I'm willing to bet most of you reading this have done it at some point. I have done it before. Not saying it's the best strategy, but it happens. You don't have to like me for pointing that out, but I believe that it's important lay out all the different contributing factors on the table first, and then use process of elimination so that you can disprove those possibilities and be able to say "no, it wasn't the enemies targeting my bots, I watched the replay."
I hate bot matches. I hate that sometimes I can play at my very best and it sometimes doesn't make any difference. I am not against you or your premise. People jump to conclusions and think that when I make a comment like I did, it means I'm trying to argue or I don't agree with them and I want to rub it in their face. That's not it at all. I would be doing you a disservice if I just read your post and kept movin along without giving you my point of view and sharing my own experiences so that maybe we can all put our heads together and try to figure out what is going on with these bots and collectively coming up with ways we can try to tackle this problem as avid players. Every single comment and post I make gets downvoted, always at least once, usually twice, sometimes more. And that's fine. But sometimes I have something to offer the community, and I think it's always important to discuss problems and hear everyone's opinions and thoughts on how to tackle them. And I will keep doing that. We are on the same page here. We want the same outcome.
