Taking a space that is build to be climate controlled, then not climate controlling it can be damaging.

The main antagonist would be moisture. A properly insulated room designed for climate control is made to have air flow from a handler or fan and moisture reduction in the form of AC.

not running ac means the air becomes stagnant and the moisture can build up in walls that are made for breathability.

It doesn’t mean everything will be full of mold though. It just doesn’t help prevent it.

We’re going to be in our house for a while. I got sun power panels. I financed them with a loan myself so no lease or ucc or liens. I pay about $100 a month in the loan. During winter it’s negligible. But my average bill during the last heatwave was almost $0 and I’ve had a couple months of credit going towards the next month.

We have an all electric house with no gas at all. We have been running the AC upwards of 12-16 hours a day with the crazy heat.

I like them. We’ve had an offer from one of the house buying companies so we let them come check it out for shits and giggles. Offer went up $20k in consideration for the panels with no lien for them to payoff. less that we actually paid for them though.

But we plan to add battery banks and be able to power the house if/when texas grid fails us again
