Fair that makes sense. Thanks for sharing.

Tammo7

Why were the training plans not a big deal?

Tammo7

Celiac Canada reached out to me and said they would try to get in touch with you.

Tammo7

As a fellow canadian, thank you for what you do. Like everyone is saying there are options but it will be harder. I’d encourage you to try and work with your organization and the government to improve the situation as we need people like you. Happy to write my MP and contact Celaic Canada to support change that will help us keep having SAR experts like you.

I’ve found gluten free labeled crunch bars in Italy.

Tammo7

Italy is so easy. Been a few times since diagnosis. They have certified restaurants via their celaic association. They have an app that lets you know all the certified restaurants in Italy by province and city. (Small fee for two week membership but so worth it). Also find me gluten free app has so much more. Just take a look in map view and go search over in Italy. Enjoy the pizza!

I had the same issue for the Canadian maps recently. They just wouldn’t work. Reached out to support and they did a map rebuild for me. Took like a week and the new files have worked.

Tammo7

Thanks for doing this!

Tammo7

I’d like to run the big 7 marathons if cost and accessibility to them wasn’t a factor!

Tammo7

I would like Sam to tell me how to step up the training plan for running ultras.

Tammo7

Sorry for not being clear, I was responding because I was surprised but I am agreeing with you as I googled and found out they were Irish from your first response.

I had noticed this with Shar being imported from the states as well!

Tammo7

Also in Canada.

Didn’t realize they are Irish because no reference on the Canadian site but you can see they are made and shipped from Ontario in Canada.

Tammo7

It's an Irish brand.

Edit: Irish not Canadian

Tammo7

I had my vest with two bottle and a hydration pack for mine. The race was so much nicer with all the water stations! Congrats!

I just finished the marathon plan with a race marathon at the end of it. The 20 mile run and the week following was the highest Mileage and that week was the hardest and I felt like you do now. I really enjoyed my marathon but also I can see it not being for everyone. I think I will do one again but I could also see the joy in focusing on shorter races and beating my PBs there.

I did the half marathon plan last fall and I agree that I enjoyed that plan a lot more.

Without a race, I’d suggest cutting some of the distances for the next week and doing the taper as a recovery. Skip the marathon if you are not interested in it and the. Start something more your style.

YOU ROCK for getting this far. You just ran a shit ton of half marathon+. That’s badass.

Tammo7

Thank you!

Tammo7

Any update on when this will be out? Great app btw!

Tammo7

I’m in Canada so I get little northern bakehouse gluten free bread with peanut butter and banana with a small bit of maple syrup.

Also use krono gels that are all gluten free!

Tammo7

Congrats! I ran Ottawa for my first marathon on Sunday as well using Kronos every 30 mins and completed in sub 3:40. I think your fuelling game was on point. It was getting hot mid way through to the end. How was your hydration and taper leading up to it?

Tammo7

I think you should base it off how you feel around 20k. Hit resume if you have it in you, I did the same. That being said the goal of the plan isn’t just to run a half marathon but to run your best half marathon. So this gives you the distance and then next time you can improve your time.

Good luck with both, you got this!

Tammo7

Not 100% but wife tracked me on the beast today. She said it missed a lot of check ins

Tammo7

Yes but it’s not great.

Tammo7

I have a accommodation so that I have an assigned/not shared desk. I got it pretty easy based off crumbs being on a lot of the shared desks. I work for a government so they take accommodations pretty seriously.

But they still suck with considering it during team building events.

Tammo7

He just finished! 29:21:13!

Tammo7

I’ve been to all 3. I found Ushuaia a bit difficult but there is a Hard Rock Cafe that has gluten free options. El calafate I was only in for a bus transfer to el chatlen where there was a bunch of options!

My suggestion is to use both find me gluten free app and search for gluten using google maps and check reviews. It’s an amazing trip, have fun and hopefully the food doesn’t stress you out!
