Thank you very much for this, it definitely makes me feel a lot better lol. I'll come back and update this thread if we get confirmation from Jamf or if the issue ends up resolving itself.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked our Push Certificates in Jamf and the MDM/APNS certificate is currently valid through early 2027.

We've gotten the same error using our main office's IoT/Corporate connection as well as multiple remote user home connections (not using a VPN). Also just tried it on my phone's hotspot and got the same error.

Thanks for the quick reply.

1.) I ran jamf recon --verbose, but unfortunately it doesn't provide any additional detail. The last line before the failure is:

Retrieving inventory preferences from https://[mycompany].jamfcloud.com/...

followed by:

There was an error.
Message has no content.

2.) As far as I'm aware, we have not. We haven't changed anything in Jamf in the past month outside of maybe updating some certs, but that was before this issue occurred.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply.

It's happening on both macOS 26.x and 27.x devices, including brand-new out-of-box Macs as well as known-good Macs that were previously able to submit inventory successfully. I've also had multiple users test the command with the same result.

As for --verbose, it's not giving much. Right before "There was an error. Message has no content.", the last line displayed is:

Retrieving inventory preferences from https://[mycompany].jamfcloud.com/...

jamf checkJSSConnection succeeds, and devices continue receiving policies and configuration profiles normally, which is what's making this especially confusing (though admittedly I'm also new to this). Either way, thanks again for the insight.
