theres a serial killer on the loose in america. his name is pete and interviews are his primary target. casual Q&As are also at a at serious and, perhaps, increased level of risk

the FBI strongly advises all citizens, especially journalists, to be well-versed in the big picture ideas of "what the fuck is going on in this country, and the world" in order to adequately prepare themselves for this phenomenon

stay tuned and be safe out there

Do us proud, and thank you

He's the kind of person who actually makes you reconsider your own assumptions when you disagree with him. That's the byproduct of his leadership, intellect, composure, etc. It would be such a massive asset in the general election. I'm sure he is probably still wrong about something, just like all of us. But he leaves me with a sense that he would be open to new information and adjust accordingly.

And the whole way by which money influences politics, in my view, has a lot less to do with individuals maxing their contributions ($2600 is honestly just not even a lot of money to wealthy people - not enough that they could call up asking for favors or any of that kind of bullshit), and much more to do with these outside PACs that get insane amounts of money and run attack ads. That's how you throw your weight around as a billionaire - not by paying 2600 to sit at a private lunch or whatever.

Everyone agrees that there is too much money in politics and that big industries have big influence. But the idea that someone is going to adopt policy positions just to appease a diverse set of special interest who have collectively donated like 30k to a campaign that raised 6 million or whatever is just an absurdly simplistic view of why politicians do what they do.

That said, part of leadership is displaying values in symbolic acts so I totally support this.

I would have to disagree - his positions pretty clearly fall into the "progressive" frame. I think what makes him sound like a centrist is that he doesn't come across as as much of an ideologue which is what I actually like the most about him. It means hes more likely to get a progressive agenda accomplished and change the underlying political conversation.

Say it slow. Drinking. Games.

TestyMicrowave

Especially because he saved this line for a bullshit question, compared to his thoughtful answers to everything else. It made it that much better.
