I think they were better in PvP in Y1 though since now, a lot of point blank duels are decided by shotguns rather than a melee finisher. That's why I use them more for PvE now rather than PvP.
I like the melee lunge range though. I'll find myself in position sometimes where one shot from my Mindbender's isn't going to finish them but the follow up melee does and it's usually at a range where normal Titan melee will whiff.

I found Worm much more obnoxious. Was a guaranteed exotic so everyone had it, activate-able on your terms, low cooldown which you had control over, could be used both defensively and offensively. Not to mention it was on the class that has the kit designed for outplaying your opponents in duels, jumping in and out of engagements and utilizing vertical space in a way that no other class can.
Not only that, but anyone can dodge when they get to low health. This isn't a defense of One Eyed Mask in it's current state, but to be 100% honest, unless you're already a very very good player capable of winning 1's consistently, it's rarely going to be as beneficial as regenerating all of your health simply by using a class ability. I'd say 90% of people I see wearing One Eyed Mask I win 1's against on all 3 classes without OEM. The other 10% I nope the fuck out on as soon as I'm "Marked For Vengeance". I don't play competitive because I don't believe this game is competitive so I can't speak for it in that playlist. Coming from a lifelong Hunter main, do I think it needs tuning? Yes. Am I up in arms over it? Would I lose my shit if nothing was done about it? No. I still think the biggest issue in the game right now is damage resilience in supers. Skating(PC player here) makes games not fun, especially against good players.

(oem and skating)
One of these things is borderline PC exclusive too.

Synthoceps are great, period. The extra melee lunge distance is pretty huge. Combine those with the "Hands On" perk and you get supers pretty quick.

Why Zhalo when Riskrunner and Thunderlord make it look like the redundant little bitch that it is? I could get on board with Bad JuJu, not that I really care because I'd never use it, but Zhalo was one of the least interesting exotics in Destiny 1. Literally the only thing it had going for it was that it was a primary with an element that you could use in high light activities like heroic strikes and shit.

I am EXTREMELY skeptical about the change from Armor functioning ans % damage mitigation to a flat stat. Everyone is jacked about this now, let's see how it goes at end game. If the difficulty of endgame activities maintain the difficulty of the Division 1, which were frequently extremely difficult with 40-50%+ damage mitigation, how is straight armor going to compete?

Bunch of people are gonna make the jump to PC and be very disappointed when they realise that there is in fact recoil on PC. I get that its easier to control, and that bloom isn't on PC, but no, there is not no recoil on PC. If I go up to artifacts edge my gun turns into a laser. Half the posts on here would have you believe that's how it always works.
It's not worth explaining, they've made up their mind that PC is "easier" without having any actual experience and they're sticking to it. It's also funny, you never hear any rumbling about how much better this game's mobility is suited to a joystick than it is a keyboard(outside of skating/gliding macros).

FYI the last mission can bug out and get you stuck in an loop where it won't complete. Done with Destiny until that shit is fixed.

Anthem feels like warframe meets mass effect. Warframe's suit/ability mechanics with Mass Effect's shitty combat. Game is residentsleeper.

If you want normalization and balance in a casual game(Destiny PvP is and always has been 100% casual, as much as you want to think it's "sweaty" because you run into "nothing but 6 stacks of not forgotten dust rock blues") then Destiny probably isn't the game for you, dude. Go play CS: GO or Siege. We saw what happened when they tried to create a balanced/near normalized game in vanilla D2. The game was shallow, bland and boring as fuck. It was in no way better than any other generic FPS, and people STILL found shit to bitch about in PvP. Stop with this. Go play something else if D2 PvP isn't fun to you.
ThanksForThrowing
"They can just balance them separately!!" all they want but Bungie has yet to prove that they can.
Bungie is not trying to PROVE anything. Not sure what rock you've been living under but a major part of their design philosophy dating back to vanilla D1 is that they want everything to feel consistent across both PvE and PvP. They CAN separate balancing, but part of their design philosophy includes the CHOICE to keep them together.

"BUNGIE I DON'T FUCKING WANT TOKENS"
"BUNGIE WHY DON'T YOU GIVE ME FUCKING TOKENS ANYMORE"

This brings me back to D1 where I could choose Dead Orbit or any faction and grind it out at my own pace. D2 feels like I have to pack in all my play time into a week or the time allotted per event or I would miss out.
You're comparing a faction.. to weapon frames? Maybe a more apt comparison would be the random rolls on vendor gear OR Gunsmith packages that you'd have to hold for weeks, not factions that you got RNG packages from at your leisure. If Ada doesn't have the weapon frames you want, and you have the forge exotics, that's one less thing you have to mindlessly do every week giving you more time to invest in an activity that will progress your character. I don't see what the issue is with frames being an RNG rotation..
ThanksForThrowing
No. The reason Ace is so popular on PC compared to consoles is because Ace has, like every other hand cannon, no random bloom on PC.
If bloom/RNG accuracy was added to the PC version, Destiny 2 would have been DOA without a question.
ThanksForThrowing
Good work, but this isn't really a front page revelation. Bungie hasn't really changed shooting mechanics and how stats affect them from Destiny 1 to Destiny 2 and all of this information was widely speculated and eventually proven to be true after The Taken King launched and hand cannons and shotguns were run into the ground.

Is Telesto meta now? It’s been a while since I last played and I got hate mail for using it yesterday. I love fusions, are they back?
I can't speak for console, but on PC you see one occasionally. Ace of Spades is S+ tier on PC, the only real competition it has is Not Forgotten, most people aren't giving up that exotic slot.
ThanksForThrowing
I think you're overestimating the effect it would have.
Really? Because I play on PC and it takes upwards of 3-5 minutes to find games sometimes. I'm in the Eastern time zone playing on what I would consider peak hours 7-11PM. A game with a substantial population and no matchmaking parameters would find games much more quickly than this.
Bungie has used SBMM since Halo 2, and wait times were never a problem.
Did you play Destiny 1? This has to be some kind of joke.
ThanksForThrowing
But from what I know (and correct me if im wrong) the matchmaking that Halo used was a microsoft creation called trueskill, bungie really doesnt have permission to use that but it was one of the reasons halo que times werent as big and majority of the matches felt fair and balanced.
Halo 2/3 would also have 2-3 million concurrent players during the height of each title's respective popularity.
EDIT: Also, did you dudes ACTUALLY play Halo 2/3? There was no sbmm in the social playlist.. This is no different than the current setup with a QP playlist. This is where you'd go to play with friends who were shitters and not have to worry about dropping from 50 to 48 because you lost one game.
ThanksForThrowing
I personally would also appreciate not having to play against NF 6-stacks or 4 solos with Luna's in QP half the time.
Queue times are already on the rise, fracturing the playerbase further by implementing strict skill based matchmaking parameters in a QuickPlay playlist with no rewards tied to it is not a good idea.

I've never really been as concerned about the things that I think Activision had little to do with. These being things like Eververse(I just don't care, yeah it's shitty, but if you don't like it don't buy it). I do think, however, that Activision played a significant role, as an investor/publisher, to see Destiny "reset", to be able to wipe the slate clean with those who had left the first iteration with a bad taste in their mouth because "they didn't understand it", "didn't have time for it", or just straight up didn't like it. I think the design choices to make Destiny 2 vanilla, at launch, as casual friendly as possible Activision absolutely had a hand in. They wanted this game to reach the broadest possible audience and knew they weren't going to get a lot of people back and weren't going to appeal to casual players with Destiny 1.5. Without this influence I think we see Bungie take complete creative control over their own IP. I mean we can clearly see the headbutting over Forsaken. Bungie loved it because it was an excellent expansion that really engaged their core audience. Activision didn't like it because it started to shift the game back to a less "approachable/casual" friendly game.

I really enjoy Jotunn. It's probably the most fun non Destiny 1 exotic weapon so far. They did a really good job with it.
ThanksForThrowing
You do realize that at this point any planned content is probably already finished, right? They can't just "add this".
ThanksForThrowing
You're right, Activision isn't responsible for most of these things. You know what Activision most likely is responsible for? Taking a game/franchise that had depth and character and forcing a developer to water it down to appeal to the most broad, casual audience possible to increase sales. Destiny 2 vanilla was the definition of generic FPS with hints of the most casual RPG and looter elements, completely lacked the character of Destiny 1 and really just wasn't that fun to play. This absolutely was a conscious design choice heavily influenced by the big publisher to sell more copies.
FYI, if you're American friend lives in America and is shipping commercial goods to Iran I'd be a better friend and tell him/her to stop. That's federal offense level shit right there unless your friend has a special export license.
