Drew Hayes' Spells, swords, and stealth series starting with NPCs has a rogue as a main character. It's a gamelit series about what happens when a party of (basically D&D) adventurers dies and a group of NPC townsfolk have to replace them. One of the books in the series, 'Going Rogue' centers on the rogue character getting trained on how to do the job.

I still loved Apocalypse Parenting, but a lot of what I liked most about it were the family/community building work, and Megan's huge challenges trying to keep her little kids alive during an Apocalypse.

In the last book, Megan has become so very important that the AI is doing anything and everything it can to kill her, and everyone knows that she's important so Megan and her family are protected at all costs. The stakes had gotten so, so much higher, but the risks almost seemed lower. And the book felt almost like a novel-length chase scene, leaving less room for the family moments--and the community she spent books building is largely left behind early on.

The writing is great, the characters are great, and the relationships between all the characters--including Pointy Turtle the little AI--feel real. One of my favorites.

Security fix, how critical this one is for you probably depends on how much you use an sftp client.

"Versions 1.1.9.1 through 1.1.9.16 are vulnerable to memory exhaustion via a malicious SFTP server sending unsolicited replies. The SFTP client (Apache MINA SSHD) did not verify that incoming replies corresponded to previously sent requests yet continued to store them"

I often forget how good he was when he was healthy, because he just couldn't stay on the field. Such a difference maker when he was 100%.

If you drive around Omaha, there seem to be a lot of them!

Somehow they've gotten up to 900 locations (!) and they've hit #50 exactly by sales among fast food chains.

ThatFilthyApe

Runza probably isn't big enough to be in the top 50 fast food chains, small print lower left says this only looks at the bigger chains.

Based on the USA today article on this same thing, yes.

"Brewer wanted his running back to carry the ball to secure a first down and help close out the victory. He said the play worked and that he hadn't been told he could not change a call."

Bad Company probably leads here.

I'll offer Icehouse by Icehouse (after they renamed from Flowers for the US release because Flowers was already in use) off the album Icehouse.

She mostly lied about it during all of her appearances on Fox News and other outlets as a way of giving credence to her right-wing talking points. I'm a smart person, I'm an attorney, you should believe me.

She said it enough times it was brought as part of her resume as press secretary but it's of course not required for the job.

It WAS shorter 50 million years ago, but more like 23 hours than 6. The day gets longer by ~2 milliseconds per century.

Still crazy that this was the FOURTH single released on their debut album, and after the first three didn't hit the US top 40 the label didn't really promote it all that much.

I'd say both go away a bit as the series moves on. Dresden eventually stops really being a detective, so the crime noir elements become much less relevant. The female characters--especially Murphy-- become much stronger and less defined primarily by their physical attributes. Eventually Dresden is even able to describe new female characters without mentioning their legs or breasts, but that does take several more books.

Weirdly if I skip any song it's "Hold on Tight", the big hit. It's a great single, but it's a weird fit stylistically with the rest of the album.

ThatFilthyApe

Despite this being one of their most popular songs, Oingo Boingo didn't play it in most of their concerts. Danny Elfman didn't think it was really complete when the label needed it for the movie.

ThatFilthyApe

Why not both? I'd rather have a solid foundation of players starting with high school grads and fill in where needed with transfers than try something similar to what Colorado attempted. Especially if we're trying to establish any kind of culture.

Do you have an old smartphone, like a Galaxy S10, or can you get one? You can just put it in airplane mode, connect to wifi, and log onto audible on a second phone and set the profile settings to hands free to work with voice commands.

He's been terrible at guard this year but the Ravens are desperate for someone who can play center. Good trade for the Eagles picking up a draft pick for somebody who can't help them and they're probably playing for next year at this point. Good trade for the Ravens IF Cam can get healthy and can be even a below-average but competent center.

Certainly one of the very worst. We had a slightly larger force than the Japanese navy but lost four heavy cruisers and 1,000 dead to Japanese losses of 50 dead and no ships sunk.

The only thing that salvaged a complete and total loss was the Japanese' failure to capitalize on their resounding victory by seeking out the now undefended transport ships bringing supplies to Guadalcanal.

The underlying technology didn't change much, though. The Beetle remained popular in other countries for a ridiculous amount of time (2003!) because you *could* move parts around between models from different eras, and because it was so easy to repair. A 1952 and 1966 model were basically the same, except for a bit more horsepower later.

Just saying, both vehicles represent basically the same level of technology in them, which is important to Harry. You want a vehicle with little that can go wrong? Both solid choices as both used very old tech.

Apparently people who are 6'6" can actually fit in a Beetle with the seat all the way back, and 6'9" has been tested.

FWIW, they're similar-- the Volkswagen type 1 prototypes were built in 1938, but never went into civilian production because WWII. The KdF-Wagen (a very recognizable Beetle) was produced starting in 1941.

The Willys Jeep prototype was built in 1940, production units delivered in mid-1941.

Also a little older than the 90s, but Andre Norton (Alice Norton)'s Witch World series is worth a look. kind of a hybrid sci-fi/fantasy work, a universe where only women are able to do magic. "Simon Tregarth, a disgraced U.S. Army veteran and former black marketeer on the run from assassins escapes through a magical portal into an alternate, parallel-universe planet where magic rules"

Andre Norton and Mercedes Lackey's more recent Halfblood Chronicles would be a fit but unfortunately Norton died before it could be completed.

Their top three running backs are Howard (questionable), Williams (questionable), and Dalton (Out). Four other running backs are also out.

Reddick is their 3d leading tackler, he's doubtful.

Most of the other guys on the injury report aren't anywhere on the depth chart but they've got a real problem at RB.

Edit... Zahir Mathis was a freshman honorable mention all conference edge last year but is going to miss the year with an off-season injury.

ThatFilthyApe

Brendan Black is probable, that's good news. He's been maybe our best OL this year. Nelson and Mozee will have an easier time of it if he's playing.

First book is a little rough, and the first two books are basically collections of short stories. I liked the first two books but book 3 was, to me, where it really took off. By then the main cast of characters was in place, and Fred started to get more assertive.

I did like the first two books, they're good, but IMO if you like the first them you'll really like the later ones that are more novel than anthology.
