It's not a bad area. Lived in Grangemore for years and the in-laws still do. Shopping centre nearby has a decent sized Dunnes and some fast food places. Not much else goes on there, I've never had any issues with being intimitated or threatened by gangs of youths or anything like that. Everyone will have different experiences and maybe the house in the Donahies is in some kind of skanger black spot, but that's not my experience with living there.

Howth Junction is like the backrooms tho. A lawess, liminal space where time and the physical bounds of reality hold no sway. Enter at your peril (I always just got the bus, it's closer, as frequent and just as speedy).

Some teams assign captains for the whole season. Some teams have set captains except for one slot which rotates. Some teams change captains every week. Depends on what the coach is trying to do in the locker room, if they need a consistent leader or if they expect everyone to step up etc. The captains are the only ones who can talk to the officials and ask for time outs on the field and they represent the team at coin toss.

I thought I was autistic, so I went to the Adult Autism and ADHD Practice - filled in an intake form and had a conversation with them and they told me if they thought it was worth my time and money to go for an Autism Assessment or not - I spent months researching and doing tests and reading about autistic people etc. Try r/AutismIreland for more information also.

I'm not talking about friendships naturally waxing and waning - talking about friendships ending with no reason or explanation, changes in their dynamic towards me or even blocking me/unfriending me. I've spent over 40 years wondering why I couldn't keep any friendships, what I was doing wrong, RSD, all that. And no, that's not normal for most people, so much so that my issues with amking and maintaining friendships was one of the main driving factors in me seeking an autism diagnosis when i was 36.

Imagine you have 1000 doors on this fictional gameshow. Behind one is a car and behind the other 999 is a goat. You have picked a door at random (to try and win a car). The host (who knows which door hides the car) picks 998 doors to open, revealing goats behind them all. Now he gives you a choice to switch to the door he deliberately left closed of all 999 he could have picked... or stick with the one out of a thousand you randomly picked. Logically speaking, you'd pick the other one. The same logic applies with three doors (but it is less intuitive)

The Michael Dickson fan club pooled their money together, maybe?

It definitely was not 50 years ago. I work for An Post, I see it first hand how heavy their deliveries are and how tough it is on people.

My dad needs two hip replacements and has a perpetually bad back after doing it for 40 years. You’re walking for hours in all kinds of weather conditions carrying a heavy bag on your back. It’s very physically intensive.

The ACTUAL answer is basically zero because OOP said he changed direction every 5000 meters or so

I thought I was in r/Dublin

Cool, thanks. I don’t need your advice tho.
