Anyone online enough to post on an Internet forum is online enough to know how to pirate something whether it be through a streaming site, Stremio or IPTV. Don't understand the point of complaining about paying for official services when there are superior options out there both in terms of pricing and accessibility (obligatory fuck you to Prime for being incapable of ensuring subtitles are present on everything in their library).

Gets on my nerves when you see these absolute brick shithouses in CB go down at the slightest touches. You're literally some of the strongest players in the game, you're not getting knocked down by some trickster midget.

Everyone blaming Gillespie for Supergirl, but don’t you realise that there was not even enough momentum or interest built up for atleast a great first week opening.

That's a purely box office point though. My comment refers to quality. The sad reality though as you said is that this movie could have been a 10/10 but there was just no interest there for it full stop.

The comments here are so funny. People are actually annoyed that a Green Lantern show is getting good reviews. It's so obvious there's a large user base here who don't actually care for DC, they just have their own agendas to push rather than taking things project by project.

Makes no sense. Especially when this character has been seen as a joke for over a decade because of one of the most infamous superhero movies ever and Deadpool mocking it at every opportunity. Be happy a project has come out that may shift what the public think of this character.

It's been two projects. One was a huge domestic success but only a modest worldwide success due to disappointing overseas numbers. The other is one of the biggest flops in DC history about a B-list hero. It's too small a sample size to judge, but Clayface, Man of Tomorrow and The Batman Part II (even though it's not in the DCU) will inform us the trajectory that DC is on a whole.

TheJoshider10

The doomposting was always strange anyway. The DCU started at the end of 2024 and within two years we've had 5 projects: Creature Commandos, Superman, Peacemaker, Supergirl and now Lanterns. Three TV shows (one animation) and two live-action movies. After Lanterns reviews are out that now makes 4/5 of those projects with positive reviews.

Supergirl is the only project without a majority positive scores and even then it got mixed reviews rather than outright bad. People can shit on Gunn and Safran but by the time the DCU is two years old we'd have had six projects in this franchise, spanning numerous genres and tones, and even if Clayface ends up disappointing critically that'd still be 4/6 projects with strong ratings. That's a solid batting average on the whole, and I hope they can keep it going with consistency.

OP, are you okay? I'm asking genuinely. Because all you seem to do (when you're not making appreciation posts about Snyder) is make posts mocking Gunn or the DCU.

TheJoshider10

Just saw the mods removed a post criticising DCEU fans. Their reason for removing it was "don't be a fanboy". Absolutely valid and I agree with that.

So why are repeated joke posts like this allowed? Very interesting. Would they have kept a post up if it was mocking Snyder? I very much doubt it.

TheJoshider10

Calling Superman a flop is a blatant lie.

Not surprised. The user is deluded and blinded by their own bias. They constantly spam the subreddit with Snyder circlejerk posts and mocking the DCU. It's bizzare behaviour.

TheJoshider10

And it’s not like Snyder isn’t still making genre films with this kind of cinematography.

I wish this were true but ever since he became his own cinematographer the visuals in his movies have been absolute dogshit. He needs to get back to working with Larry Fong because their work together is by far the peak of both their careers visually (Watchmen and BVS).

The sad part is at its core there's actually a compelling character arc for Kara. She literally wants to die and be with her people but she can't do that because her father told her they live on inside her. So rather than living her life she's simply existing and waiting for it to end, too guilty to kill herself and so detached from the world that she can't enjoy life.

That's something that had so much potential, and it's what the movie pretty much tells us, but it's lost somewhere along the way. Which is such a shame because personally I think that's one of the most compelling character arcs we've seen in the genre and her deciding to live her life should be a triumphant moment, but it never comes.

I liked the way we quickly sped through events to show the cycles of violence and the passage of time. Felt like a montage.

The only issue I had towards the end was how rushed and unexplained that time jump was with the thing Mark found. Was nothing but an obstacle for him and Eve rather than anything meaningful, and I wouldn't mind if they removed it altogether.
