With that attitude they never will!

TheMoonstar74

I hate how the classic trope of left wing people not being good with math and numbers applies here lol

TheMoonstar74

How are the NDP stuck in the 50s?

TheMoonstar74

More spine to speak up than the rest of the line towing liberals atleast

TheMoonstar74

Who on the island has enough capital to just start a contracting company? If investment into larger machines outside of your typical power tools (small backhoes etc) is not cheap. People on this island don’t have that much capital to throw around unless they are part of the super wealthy families on the island. The free market model doesn’t exactly work well on a niche and logistically isolated market like ours

TheMoonstar74

More units isn’t a bad thing no. It’s the way they are going about doing it which might be considered bad. Why not invest all that 4 million dollars into new affordable housing? Or an affordable housing complex near to other services? Doing it the way they are planning on makes it very prone to bad actors doing upgrades to their houses not needed for the conversions and contractors overcharging homeowners because they can since the government is offsetting the cost

TheMoonstar74

Yep, lip service that doesn’t acually fix the problem. Guarantee there’s gonna be lots of well off people in nicer area with easily upgradable spaces using the government money to do upgrades to their houses and the liberals will gladly sign off on them (guarantee there’s people associated to government workers that know about this and will get special treatment)

TheMoonstar74

It’s skirts the problem so perfectly as only liberals can do, while also giving money to developers, and not fixing the main issue which is the lack of new or livable current affordable housing

TheMoonstar74

I’m assuming a Canadian geography category?

TheMoonstar74

Just vote NDP then

TheMoonstar74

A lot of the times items will be taken off the bills due to customer complaints, kitchen error, or simple miscommunication

Sometimes it could be to entice people to come back if it’s their first time there, lots of customer retention strategies involve this method.

Kind of a long term approach to building a base of regulars, but doesn’t look nice on books

TheMoonstar74

Yes, this is the way. We need to get involved politically and in our communities and actively work to affect change instead of hoping it happens to us

TheMoonstar74

You do realize this person is just weighing risks and benefits right? They might feel threatened and unsafe by men, and rightly so (unless they are a man). Why would anyone willingly put themselves in a dangerous situation when they can opt for something safer?

TheMoonstar74

Holy shit I didn’t know about this what the hell

TheMoonstar74

There’s a cold snap coming this Tuesday, getting down to like -30 or something with the wind chill

TheMoonstar74

I’m not implying she’s doing that at all, I’m saying to the commenter above the reason that you’re hating is because you’re misogynistic

She could be having a panic attack or is currently traumatized, or is in shock

How can you expect people to act polite and reasonable while being exploited and traumatized? Sounds like you need to go pound sand and grow up

TheMoonstar74

Probably just hates women honestly

TheMoonstar74

It might not now but you can bet it will be a thing in a few years

TheMoonstar74

Austerity is a shitty way to balance a budget that only hurts the working class. It’s a chicken shit way to run a government that doesn’t wanna make hard decisions that impact the business that capitalize off of workers

TheMoonstar74

LC?

TheMoonstar74

A shuttle service to important businesses could be helpful like to the Library or the grocery store or the gym

TheMoonstar74

Honestly think the keg does the best, huge portion, tons of salsa guacamole and sour cream and you can get more for free

TheMoonstar74

You make a good point, what about people on a longer stay like 6-18 months?

I know we used to have a farm on salmonier line that they would bring male prisoners too and I’ve heard a lot of success stories

TheMoonstar74

I wonder if turning it into a prisoner rehabilitation center would be a good use of the island? The ferry is paid for by taxpayers and is very new, best to use it for something valuable like a forward thinking solution to our failing penal system

TheMoonstar74

Hahahahaha I had a good chuckle at this one, thanks
